Would you give Klay Thompson a max extension?

The cap is currently at $58 million, they are projecting it will jump to $80-85 million.

They need to go ahead and do it then. Overpaid or not, the future market is gonna dictate that his next salary will knock an owner's head off...barring injury of course

I think you're overselling klay's defensive prowess. A highlight of his blocks/steals... that will make anybody look good. He doesn't close out consistently, he gets muscled... But he's certainly getting better, and I don't think most people realize he's solid defensively. Feels like light-skinned bias, but that's not really my territory.

Coach K praises everyone's defense. He spent the summer talking up Kyrie's defense, especially against Brazil. C'mon. Klay is a great young player. He is not a great defensive player. He is also not a horrible defensive player, like so many think.

There can be middle ground here. You don't need to live in hyperbole. He's got good instincts, he doesn't have elite lateral speed or vertical... but he also has really good body control for a guy that is not exceptionally bouncy. He's just not disruptive. That's ok. That's still a plus.

no he can't there's been plenty of times where teams go right at him and he either gets took to school or fouls
