- Work for a company where I get two bonuses a year
- Realized the bonus aint shyt :stopitslime:
- Get to fly out the country 2 times a year to make said bonus. This means company paid travel, hotel, etc.
- Bonus is paid out 60 days later. If you arent with company you dont get the bonus

For those that need numbers, basically lets say I make 60k salary with two bonuses that total about 4k before taxes. It's a cake and easy job, close to home (great for ATL) but in a dying/downsizing industry and other jobs in the IT field are showing interest.

I'm working on my 4th cert but this company could give a fukk. How much would it take you to leave and would you care if you left after travel plans were made and paid for you?
Or could you leave afterwards and leave that bonus on the floor? :ld:

I’ve never been at a job that gave a bonus.
I’m a front end engineer, we rarely get gigs with bonuses.

Quitting after a company books your travel is not a big deal.

If it was me, I’d probably time my job search during those 60 days so I could collect and resign right after. But I only get bonuses/stock grants once a year. No point in throwing away a 20-25% bonus unless the job offer is amazing.

Always take the salary if you can get both. Companies will try to throw that bonus shyt at you without an increase of salary.

Had one employer try to do that to me. They were like instead of the 15% salary raise we will give you a 4% raise and a 7k signing bonus...I was like get the fukk out of here. I was like better yet you can keep that 7k bonus give me the 15% raise and we even.

But companies try to do that because it is a one time thing like salary and they can always cook the books and write it off as though it was relocation expenses oe some shyt like that.

Edit - My fault OP I thought you meant signing bonus.
