The ashanti were slave traders right :mjlol:

And matriarchal isn't the same as matrilinenal :mjlol:

Yo, on here, I've never out-right called someone a fukking idiot. But you sir, are the first.

Your happy ass wrote that like you were saying something. Oh yeah? Matriarchy and matrilineal aren't the same thing? Oh my! I never knew that. Please explain more.

When I typed out the the word matrilineal, I thought I was typing matriarchal. Silly me. Please teach me.

And yes, the Asante did betray themselves when they started trading weapons with the portuguese, and then enslaved people, and gold with the British. What they and other African groups did was disgusting. I make no excuse and no disclaimers for that. Ever.

Ok so why you mad? There has never been a successful matriarchal society for a reason. Women were created to serve men

all thriving communities are patriarchal. can you name ONE, just ONE thriving "matrilineal" culture?

how are women going to have wealth, power AND independence. when you bytches dontput in work annd build the shyt? you will still rely on men to provide resources and defend the culture. foh chick

Women had wealth, power and independence through egalitarian systems in the division of labor, family structure and public politics. What is hard to understand about that?

What makes you think women didn't work? or that women didn't defend?

The greatest Asante uprising against the British was lead by a woman, Yaa Asantewaa. And she won. Repeatedly.

You're so thoroughly brainwashed and conditioned by Western patriarchy you can't even fathom egalitarianism. and marxism doesn't count.

It's so sad, yo

dikkhead, we're talking about Akans - one of the wealthiest empires in African and human history. A culture that was not a patriarchy (nor a matriarchy).

Don't @ me anymore. Keep your fukknikka lessons between you and your daughter.

this is why its almost impossible to have honest arguments with some of you matriarchal women and afro centrics. i ask you to name any thriving "matrilineal" culture or society, and you start talking about the ashanti empire. ffs, do you have anything within OUR lifetime?

a society where women are in charge and where there are no words to express the concepts of "father" or "husband".

But what makes the Mosuo unique is their practice of zuo hun, or "walking marriage". From the age of 13, after being initiated, females may choose to take lovers from men within the tribe, having as many or as few as they please over their lifetime. Male companions are known as axias and spend their days carrying out jobs such as fishing and animal rearing, and visit the women's homes at night, often secretly; any resulting children are raised by the woman's family. The father and all adult men are known as "uncles" – there is no stigma attached to not knowing who a child's father is.

Uhhh, this is kinda looking exactly like the black community in the light? :sas2:
