I dont know that just means she's like, independent/ a feminist... :manny: you could do worse.

And by the way, to everyone saying, 'that's a sign of things to come'. Well theres like a sliver of a chance your marriage will last anyways in modern America

:wow: Most pessimistic shyt Ive ever wrote

Make her sign a prenup = problem solved.

No. It's just a name :dahell:. The satisfaction or longevity of ones marriage isn't based upon whether they share the same last name. The man doesn't have to change his name and/or identity for marriage so why should she be seen differently just because she may not want to either?

Sit back and i'll tell you a story...

When I was in school, I worked at a bank. One day, a man came through the drive-thru and sent a split deposit in.
One of my co-workers got it and went to process it, then paused. She told dude "sir we can't split this deposit,
because it isn't written to the name on the account..." He drove around and came in mad as hell.

Here's what happened: the check was written to him...on the back he signed it over to his wife's account (they had seperate, singular accounts) -
who had a different last name. So basically, we didn't know the name on the account was his wife. Even still, we weren't supposed to
give him money back out of it, but since he made such a scene, the manager let him do it just this once.

I say this to say, we could've gotten to the bottom of the situation a lot faster if they had the same last name, or
if they at least noted on their accounts that they had a spouse. This kind of thing makes practical sense.

That makes sense :ehh:, and I'm sure they didn't think about the possible road blocks that could come from not sharing the same last name.

I like stories:shaq:

I am traditional when it comes to this :yeshrug: I never thought of not changing my last name and I really like it. I figured I would do like my mom, on all her documents, its first name, maiden name as the middle name, then married name. Even if I kept my middle I will still have a piece of my fathers name so it doesn't really matter.

I would agree with that if it wasn't for one thing that was mentioned in here earlier - they were both lawyers.
So they were both probably "established" in their careers, and didn't want to lose the prestige that might come
with their name...but again - it's not like you become a bad lawyer if you change your name...
