Getting the drop on medicine and funding and buying the patents to Tesla's work. Early investments into communication, forming a monopoly in the radio and telephone world.
I would discover DNA myself, and do some other works in molecular biology.
Buy up some American banks during the depression. Buy a lot of companies during the depression, newspaper companies, buy up Ford and start a black car company.
Normal diseases don't touch people in those higher positions of money and power so that's not a worry.
