Among the legendary producers? Yes. I'd have the greatest chance at a hit record with him.

In 2016 though? Nah. There are too many no-names making heat at much cheaper prices.

Dre NEVER had a "run" like the Neptunes. Dre had longevity tho.

from the 80's to the 90's and then the 2000s. he's been apart of some of the most iconic hip hop albums in history. plus he was apart of 3 iconic record label, 1 of which he co owned and the other he owns. but yet his run doesn't compare to the neptunes?

serious question, I dont follow his career outside early Wu

thing is RZA had a 5-year vision and that's when he assumed total control of all Wu productions etc. that culminated with the release of Wu Forever. After that he kinda did some experimental solo shyt and sporadic production on various projects and did scores for film soundtracks etc.

but then we would produce in the early 2000s for The W album and produced more than half the beats for Supreme Clientele and exec. produced that whole album and then 9 years later Cuban Linx II

so he's been involved periodically since Wu Forever but that was very deliberate

his aim was to put the Wu on top of the world as a music group and he pretty much accomplished that

I dont think we should discredit in house producers. Mannie Fresh, DJ U Neek, Beats by the Pound. maybe not the greatest, but still great producers.
