No. Who is legitimately surprised they are here? From the moment they won last year's Lombardi, thru OTAs and preseason to the beginning of the season, to the beginning of the playoffs, they've been a Top 3 betting favorite to get back to the Super Bowl...

That never really changed even as they struggled because you knew they'd win their division. They were in the mix for the 1-seed until losing b2b to GB and Buffalo----->in December. Two losses to teams who literally had to run the table to just get in The Tournament. Kansas City was never at risk of missing the playoffs...

On top of all this. This franchise has arguably the greatest roster builder in football (Veach); arguably the greatest head coach AND offensive playcaller of all time (Reid); arguably the greatest quarterback of all time (Mahomes); arguably the greatest tight end of all time (Kelce); arguably the best defensive coach in the NFL today (Spagnuolo); and the playoffs just showed us, despite prior misconceptions and beliefs in other teams (Ravens, Browns, Cowboys), the Chiefs may have had the very best defense in the NFL this season...

This is a WHOLE LOTTA "bests in the NFL today" or "greatest of all time" on one roster. Its not possible to overachieve if this is the makeup of your franchise...

They didn't overachieve, what it is, is that we as a football culture, largely wrote them off, because they had some skids this year. What these mf's really did was some shyt akin to watching Bron and his teams in the mid-to-late 2010s, patiently developing inexperienced players in the regular season, taking some lumps but never panicking, because they had all the faith in the team cohesion and organizational infrastructure---->and these mf's flipped the gotdamn switch in the playoffs...

Mahomes by many metrics had his worst season but his worst year is most QBs best year, why wouldn't he be able to flip a switch? Kelce looked washed 90% of the year then the playoffs come and mans looks like he's at his peak again. All these mf receivers who couldn't separate or catch in the regular season are separating and catching their asses off now 🤣 😂

It's on all of us who doubted them to take the L. You can't overachieve and these are the people you got in your building...

Chiefs having a top defense and running game wasn't counted on at the start of the year, it was "discovered" throughout the year. Most thought it would be a struggle due to lack of weapons.

In reality the pat mahomes era of chiefs football has had decent to great defenses all along but they've never been acknowledged as a great defensive squad due to how explosive the offense is.

They had timely defense early with Spags, but it has literally gotten better and more consistent every yr, to now being elite with the resources Tyreek got us. Thank god for Dee Ford getting Sutton ass outta there.

Ironically they’d get more credit this yr if dumbass voters gave Sneed his props

what would you say are the 49ers major weaknesses?

Defense - runs to the outside, zone in the middle of the field.

Pacheco is best at outside runs and Kelce finds spots in zones. If you don’t attach a man to his hip he’ll kill you.

Offense - offense doesn’t work if McCaffery isn’t working, Deebo can vanish for stretches at a time, Purdy is more likely to make a terrible throw than take a sack when pressured.

Mahomes is the GOAT of his generation. He’s everything they wanted Aaron Rodgers to be. If the Eagles didn’t play him last year and got to play somebody like Joe Burrow or Josh Allen instead, we’d have a second ring right now. Mahomes is too good :manny:

Nah don't disrespect Rodgers like that

THEY SAY DEFENSES WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS...

THEY HAVE A TOP 2 DEFENSE AND
THE BEST QB IN THE LEAGUE.

EVEN IF THEY DON'T SCORE A LOT OF PTS
HES GONNA SCORE TIMELY PTS
AND WONT HURT THE TEAM
WITH BAD PLAYS IN THE PLAYOFFS.
