Would You Sell Your Business' Instagram Account For 100K?

So, I've parked an Instagram account for a few years, waiting until I was ready to launch the business for which I created it. I've recently been contacted by a company in a completely different market that goes by the same name and they are offering me $80K for the account. Our business is trademarked, sp there aren't any worries of infringement since we're in an entirely different market, but the Instagram account just happens to perfectly match our company brand and theirs. Should I sell it? If I do, I'll have to create another account, one that'll probably look like [company name]store. Some people argue that such a name can look janky, leaving prospective consumers to view your brand as illegitimate.

Depends, what are your income projections?

It's an apparel line. So, income projections are about 5-8 million a year within 6 years of launching. I don't expect to be in the black for the first year or two. But apparel is also a very saturated market, with the vast majority of those launching meeting failure within a few years. My partners and I were aware of this company, stumbling upon it when conducting research after landing on the name for our business, but we didn't think about them after securing our trademark, believing that was a sure enough sign that there wouldn't be any conflicts over our companies sharing the same brand name.

Sell the fukking instagram and change the company name.

Use the money and invest in the business.

Don't be dumb.

A name is only as valuable as a brand. Since you haven't started doing business, you brand value is literally ZERO.

Find a new name and use the money to do business. Unless the name is extremely unique or something, not sure why you'd do anything else.
