For every story I hear of a veteran making bank I hear 3 of former marines who are dead broke and feel forsaken by the govt.
The logistics behind why, idk. But to act like it's a guaranteed comeup to join the military, I've seen many cases that say otherwise

i wouldn't do it knowing what I know now....Would you do it all again?
And describe the training, at least what you can
but I may not know what i know now if it were not for those experiences.
1) some of the most conscious bothers I know i met in the military.
2) got degrees and certs for free. plus the benifits are unmatched.
3) stability for young dudes, discipline for those u need it ( and r ready to accept it)
travel n see new shyt. I would def do it again.
training was madd running and marching. running is the thing i hate most on earth so it was bad for me. then there is some weapons training, u learn them all..
i ended up w 203 launcher on m4 while deployed n shyt. Most of the time you spend your time waiting around during training for shyt to happen.. trying not to fall asleep in the classroom parts.
i will admit they sorta brainwash u, because by the time u go thru all that u actually wanna get deployed n do some shyt.

I know a lot of people who are in the DMV who are doing quite well in the military or retired and eating really well. If it was me I'd join the National Guard.

even though i'm having a successful career and advanced quick (made e-5 in 3 years) i'm thinkin bout gettin out. I'm just not happy here, cool ppl here tho, and stacking bread

There are a few young dudes from my old neighborhood. They aren't doing shyt. But at least don't have records and graduated HS. even i had a record, so I think they're doing great considering the area.

but they could do some great things. I did it. My exp was 100% good. free Degrees, certs, PM certs, another degree, travel the world, fukk hoes, made some sons, still got 36 months of post911..
and recently i became a disabled vet.... they're gonna give a nikka nearly a stack for the rest of my life and nothing is even physically wrong w me.just got back pay for it, 12K in my acct on some random shyt.
Anyway, would you recommend it to anyone black? I was always told not to.

got 50% disability. b.s, masters, PM, learned development.

If you're smart about it, it can be the greatest choice you ever make. I did 3 years in the army in hawaii, worked at a well known gov't agency the entire time, no deployments. Got free school, fukk a student loan. And at 24 been working at an agency making $83k/yr, no degree yet, just off the strength of my experience while in. Soon I'll be buying a house with $0 down thanks to a VA loan and also collecting disability every month. (i also hated running and hurt my legs but theyre fine now, as long as im not running 10 miles a week and shyt)
