Idk, part of me wants to say, what happens when you can’t just run through or around your cb, but I’m sure having tiny Tim as your qb brings ups and downs
Kyler is a problem but Nabers and BTJ produce with shyt QBs. MHJ was overhyped and is at best the third best WR in his draft class

I haven't watched a ton of him, but he's EASILY the most hyped WR prospect I'd seen in years, and his performance seems mediocre at best.

Is he just young? Is it Kyler and the offense? Does he just not have that gamebreaking speed or athleticism?

I know it's only his second year, but Nabers and BTJ have been looking great.

It's the midget

I haven't seen enough of him, but it's becoming more and more apparent that to be an elite WR in the NFL today, you need to have game breaking speed or physical ability. From what I've seen of him, he doesn't pop off the screen to me. Again, a lot of that may be the Cardinals, but even watching some clips of him before the draft, I didn't understand why he was rated that much higher than Nabers and even BTJ.

I don't think Ive ever seen a prospect like MHJ. He was the consensus can't miss WR prospect in his class since he was a freshman. It wasn't until his JR season was over and everyone started comparing him to the other WRs in the draft that people started having concerns about him.

He’s not the fastest, but he can get open, and he can contort to make some amazing catches, i don’t think he does anything amazing but he just got open and could make some tough catches, again i don’t know if he’s having issues getting open but idk

I don’t think they had issues til that 40 came and it was slow, like i said he doesn’t do anything amazing except he can catch and contort to increase his catch radius, which is cool til you have trouble getting off the line or getting open

The 40 time was part of it but it was when he was being compared to Nabors, Odunze, Thomas etc Is when people started to sour on him.

Dhop had a 1,500 yard season with Kyler. Maybe this cat just ain't that good? :patrice:

Dhop made a lot of contested catches. MHJ is a route running WR just like his pops was. He needs precision and timing, and that's not really Kylers forte.
Its all of it.

He needs a rhythmic passer. However, again Trey McBride stays putting up huge #s with Kyler. The issue is the OC is ass and not that creative. So you've essentially got little Kyler playing Baker Mayfield Browns style offense.

At his best Kyler is like a PG who thrives in a fast break offense. Trying to slow him down and make him a rhythmic passer ends up just hurting both. If they at least played with some tempo you'd get MHJ being more productive. He'd probably better with a Herbert or Goff type QB, but still.

Also there is a bit of a dawg missing from MHJ. Nabers would be ready to fight Kyler if he wasnt getting the football. MHJ just takes being an afterthought.
