Wrestling may be fake but the athleticism is very real.
Telling someone who constantly puts themself in danger, that what they do is fake is highly disrespectful. That shyt is hard work regardless of the fake storylines.
It's like telling a stunt double that their work is fake when they really be out there maiming and killing themselves for it.
When they say fake they mean matches scripted and outcomes are pre determined they dont mean the bumps are fake, wrestlers for decades always acted obtuse to this, they knew exactly what the reporters meant but they just felt entitled that the viewing audience shouldnt KNOW...
Wrestling was scripted as far back as the 1920s though, it's not like it's a new revelation. Also while you don't feel that way, a lot of people do use the term fake to belittle the wrestlers and act like they never get hurt.
If you read the background before dude got slapped then you'd know that he was invited back stage with specific instructions NOT to ask if wrestling was fake. He still went back there getting in all their faces asking the very questions he was told not to ask, and he was condescending with it too. When they say fake they mean matches scripted and outcomes are pre determined they dont mean the bumps are fake, wrestlers for decades always acted obtuse to this, they knew exactly what the reporters meant but they just felt entitled that the viewing audience shouldnt KNOW...
Dude had his whole eyeball come out his head, popped that shyt back in and kept pushing vs Stan Hansen. Vader wasn't about the fukk shyt dissing his craftnot staged...at all..you dont tell an old school wrestler like vader that wrestling is fake
. RIPThe action is mostly choreographed but the pain is certainly real.Wrestlers are such emotional weaklings....it kills them to admit its fake cuz its somehow an indictment on there lifes work.

The reporter was a known a$$hole, its really not shocking that he got the reaction that he did. He literally asked to get handled.
He didnt forfeit his career over this situation, Vince actually protected him by sending him to japan until it blew over.Maybe he was an a$$hole doesnt mean you forfeit ur career over a question lol...

He got into a fight with Mr. T backstage, that's what ended his career.
Look it up breh.He did forfeit his damn career he was gonna be the guy to main event with Hogan during the beginning of the rock n wrestling era he threw that all away cuz of this shyt...and he was done after that...nobody gave a shyt about Japan in the mid 80s its where old wrestlers went to get a payday like MLS is to soccer.
His time was up in the WWF because of that slap and he never wrestled again for Vince after that....
Look it up breh.
Vince actually told dude to stay in character and to rough him up if he got to asking questions he was told not to ask.
He got into a fight with Mr. T around that same time, who was friends with Vince, and that's why he was let go.

David SchultsI never heard the Mr T story before, ill look for it...
