It is now meant to make us materialistic and envious of everyone else, in my opinion. Instead of going out and trying to be a go getter yourself, you seek to either rob or undermine another person who is doing it or trying. That's why most of the music these days is so negative in nature.
The record companies are part of the agenda to make Blacks love things and actions that are detrimental to our growth. We are meant to be oversexed, desensitized, lack empathy, and not have a plan of action with our own lives other than chasing other people or pipe dreams.
Through prison, clarity, or just having too many children to support; a day dawns on us that we just can't make it to the finish line like this. At that point, late bloomers realize how little options they have and the endeavors of the pipe dreams have failed them.
It's why I tell brothers to go into business school. We need to learn how to create and then spread opportunities, instead of chasing and trying to assimilate to everyone else's game and goals, or rebelling against it in sociopathic pursuits.
