I did hate when they removed the soft drinks and iced tea, though.
1. A Public School education is essentially free. You get what the fukk you pay for.
2. School lunch costs like $3. Name ANY meal you can get for $3 (which includes a drink) that looks better than a school lunch.
3. Poor/Hungry children are NOT the ones complaining about school lunch. I bet they eat every cot damn morsel.
I think sometimes they used to offer apple and grape juice but them shyts were so small like a half cup with a tin foil on top
and the only good food they ever had was the chicken patties or nuggets. I cringe thinking about some of the stuff they used to serve, rib-a-que sandwiches and cordon bleus
You're just a little thesaurus this morning aren't you? Some of the comments/expectations/demands/criticism of public school lunch in this thread and offline criticism of public schools in general, clearly displays an ignorance and/or irrational thought process/expectations of the quality of an entity who experience yearly budget cut, where those funds are redirected elsewhere for political reasons. Then that entity is being requested to do more, with less...which is an empty "motivational" phrase used to skew the fact that quality has a direct correlation with "more" skills, research, money, votes, education, experience, quality teachers etc.
what a load of silly comments. None of these lunches meet the standards of the act. This is a trumped up farce. And no, MO is NOT picking out what your kids are eating. There was a whole series of nutrition experts at the USDA who studied the issue, evaluated public comments, and created rules to reduce fat and salt and increase whole grains and fruits.. and, yes, cut back on some of the calories... but did you know that this is another program to feed athletes at the end of the school day before practice starts? and here are the calorie limits "For the first time in history, school meals are also limited to a certain number of calories: 650 calories for meals for kindergarten through fifth grade, 700 calories for seventh and eighth grade and 850 calories for high school." don't be fooled!
lol. if you can't see this as cacs trying to push an agenda then I don't know what to tell you.
second comment says it all
