I be seeing all this technical shyt. It just seems like some geeky shyt. Like mothafukkaz on the internet talk about, looking for fast flows and bullshyt like thatm instead of the music, the feel, the content.

But wtf is a technical rapper? Eminem?

Fast flow, good enunciation, flow switches and multi rhymes. Eminem, Pharaoh Monche, Diverse, Twista, etc.

It can be dope, but rappers have to be careful not to get to annoying with it (eminem lately, twista)

But yeah, these days I'm more about smooth flows, simple rhymes with strong lyrics, good rap voice and musicality. If a rapper is technical and sounds dope, it could be a bonus.

AZ is the first person I ever heard of described as a "technical rapper"

I always took it as someone who rhymes like they got a set of formulas that they apply to words and phrases broken down into syllables.

like this Elzhi vid I posted last week where he's talking about "I cracked the code" or whatever.

or folks like DOOM and Cage who will say they write patterns and shyt. Big Pun and Sean Price, who the first time he started rapping like that gave a shout out to Pun like he taught him how to do it.

Eh pretty much the mainstream guys. Kendrick, Kanye, Killer Mike (and El-P), Schoolboy, Rocky nowadays. I wouldnt say any of them are super technical except sometimes El-P but they're all good to great rappers.

Ma$e I havent' listened to any of his albums, but when i heard him on features I thought he was bad to be honest. Don't like his voice and his flow is kinda boring.

Havent listened to Diamond D either.
