Yeah but a lot of women become teachers and nurses, jobs you can pretty much do anywhere. Its a lot of them down there in Mississippi. Both sides of my family are from Leland/Greenville, Mississippi.. I visit at least once a year. Been all through the state except the Southern/Gulf part. There's not much there but its definitely a black state and they do have some fine thick women that's cool and friendly out there.

I take each place I visit and separate them and never compare them to another place. Its the old saying, "it is what it is"
