Combat isn't that bad to me.

Love the animations after you murk a nikka and their head, arms, legs etc gets chopped off and they're leaking all over

Play on a harder difficulty. (Idc what anyone says on here, Death March is not easy by any means)

Read, no seriously, read. You should be collecting armor which helps with health/defense problems and in general focus on one of the types of combat early on (Melee, Potions, Magic). Don't spread yourself thin early on.

Lastly, you could just be bad at the game, no this isn't a "git gud" response, I mean in general, this might all be new to you, so you don't understand the canceling of sword strikes into Quen or Igni, etc. You might not even be good at parrying.
