It was a different world then, u couldn't go on-line and see someone's show from across the country. U didn't have music at your fingertips, that's a time when if u really liked a song u straight waited for it to come on the radio to tape that shyt. So those reactions were legit...people were hyped just to see their favs live.
I'm not trying to be the old head, I like how shyt is now. However we won't ever get that feeling back, the pure joy. Waiting to buy an album and hear it all the way thru and u legit had no idea what u would see at a live show.

Can someone clarify this as a fact or hoax: Rakim's concerts usually involved lip syncing because he doesn't want to use his voice for performances. Apparently this was a repeat offense.
