The time investment is ridiculous most of the time. Its a double edged sword. I think people don't see it positively. They think, since its free, it should stay free, instead of thinking it was fun enough to throw some money at it now. A lot of those games aren't as much free to play as they are pay to win.
Because they're using formulas that are solely intended to bleed the players monetarily. There's a science to getting people to spend real money on these games.

when it works its great for both the consumer and company 
banning it wouldnt accomplish much, companies would just find a new way to bleed money out of people. and a lot of smaller companies that use the f2p model ethically would lose their business.
its just easy to take advantage of. ultimately its up the the consumer to stop paying for bullshyt free 2 play

Microtransactions up the ass and the AWFUL pay walls. If you want to actually play most F2P games properly, you will go well over 60$.

Basically what they said too many microtransactions, you can't progress without buying something. Like dc universe at some point you have to get a membership if you buy DLC you can't get everything without spending more money. Now when runescape was hot you could free to play the game to max levels but your methods would take longer..free to play games should follow old rs formuls
