Video is kinda all over the place.

They went from itchy eyes, to GMOs, to roundup, maybe cancer, economics, to politics, and never really gave a real determination on any of it.

The video asks “what is Monsanto doing to PR” and doesn’t really give an answer:francis:

To REALLY know the entire population of that area would need to go through tests though.

Soo being all over the place until that occurs is inevitable

But they didn’t just concentrate on what’s happening to the area. Hell most of the video is about everything else.

I agree studies should be done on the effects of populations near the farms, but the video didn’t even make that claim, or set out to answer the question they set forth.

The video sucks and is disjointed but the answer is obviously "exploiting it and it's people like everybody else". :yeshrug:

  • Lobbying for and getting tax breaks while operating in an economically struggling country.
  • Taking over and controlling large swaths of land.
  • Making the people there sick.
  • Preventing PR farmers from making a living.
  • PR has to import 85% of their food because of Big Agro.

I think they gave reasonable answers to that question.

Nah, it’s not that simple. These are more questions than answers. Yes they get tax breaks, but as the governor said, a large part of their economy is based on allowing those farms to exist. As for the sick people there is no definitive answer. The chemicals they use there are no different than what they use in other parts of the country. As I said above studies should be done, but the video didn’t even delve into that topic with any seriousness. So it’s not as black and white as you put it here, and the video sure didn’t help explain or answer much of anything worthwhile. I’m not sure of exactly what should be done, but just saying “Monsanto bad” ain’t it.
