Got the free trial for Showtime and binged on this shyt :blessed: can't believe Hot97 banned Wu Tang for what a decade :pacspit:

If you a fan of hip-hop this is a must see :salute: to the Wu and mass appeal

It wasn't a complete ban because Ghostfaces music stayed on Hot 97. But It was noticeable becuz there was a point where Hot 97 was filled with nothing but Wu shyt in the mid 90's then it stopped.....Wu tang and anything with Puffy on it dominated Hot 97 mid 90's.... and thenafter that incident Hot97 became dominated by Bad Boy and Rocafella shyt.....Wu wasnt getting that same treatment anymore.....it all makes sense now because right before the summer they were playing 97 Mentality over and over again but when Triump dropped they hardly played it...I'm assuming that was after the Ghost incident because 97 Mentality was some mixtape shyt and Triump was the actual single.....But then again they played the fukk out of Slang Editorial....I do remember they also ran that Cherchez song into the ground. They had the Wu on Star and Bucwild 2 days in a row promoting Iron Flag..Star kept saying U God looked like his older brother....It was like half the members one day and the other half the next day.....They let Rae get awy with saying sh*t on the air, and they were playing Iron Flag cuts in rotation....They even had promo commercials for it with 'Back In The Game' being one of them.......They were playing 'Ghost showers' and that wasnt even a single......Star had "Auto Bio" from Legend Of The Liquid Swords in his morning rotation. Kay Slay was playing Grits and We Pop by the rza. Kay Slay was also playing random Wu tang shyt but that was at night......Meth on Kay Slay and they asked why he doesnt have Rza dominating the production on his new project and he replied about how u cant eat the same cereal all the time ....But yeah it was noticeable that in early 2000's Hot 97 wasnt giving Wu the same treatmeant as Bad Boy, The Roc. G Unit and Dipset. I do remember Lex Diamond and Tical 0 got zero promotion on Hot 97....Another song they ran into the ground was the Ghostface Neyo song......They played that Ghost Neyo song nonstop and even the remix with Kanye on it. Its funny how Ghost was the one to set it off on hot 97 yet his music was getting the most airplay. So I'm guessing it was a partial ban because they did play Wu songs after 97.

Ghost had the Sony and def jam machine behind him which probably helped.

Also Meth and Red's music got played a ton..

But really after the Summer Jam incident they only got DJ play and Star played there shyt once in awhile. The day time slots where they play the same 15-20 songs to over and over they never got in that again until the Ghost/Neo "Never Be the Same Again" song came out.

Just watched the whole shyt on Showtime app...

ODB part in Chapter 3 is just sad....
I remember this from a previous doc, like 10 years ago, how Dame kinda went behind Divine and RZA back and threw a mill at Dirt.
They wanted to rehab him, get him back in shape and get his mind right after a long jail stint.
The ROC put him out there and rushed him back to work...

Dirt's white boy manager didnt even know who RZA was :dead:

Sad to see...
Yea those jail stinta broke ODB spirit..

And :wow: @ Mariah showing love to Dirt when he got released...you know that meant alot to him :wow:

They also played 'Never be the same again' and that remix to 'Summertime' a lot.

Dirty on Rocafella:hhh:

His culture vulture manager not recognizing RZA:scust:

Multi layered deep dish cake:russ:

Ghost was inconsolable when Dirty died:mjcry:
dikk em Down Crew:dead:

Giuliani:pacspit:
Divine is a character:heh:. They did him dirty though. I really didn't see him being wrong. Ghost saying he shouldn't get a cut was messed up.

They did a great job with this. Watched it all straight through and didn't noticed how much time went by. Glad to see they still love each other .

Finished it this morning and liked it a lot. I don't know much about the Divine vs. Wu members shyt outside of this doc but they all sounded stupid getting mad at him for getting his cut and shyt. :snoop:

Because according to most of them, Divine don't do sh!t. RZA has the vision, RZA works, makes the connects Divine just takes a cut. But at the same time, RZA has said that the way he views Divine, (and GZA), they can do no wrong in his eyes. RZA mediates a lot of tension between them and Divine. At least Power had Wu Wear. GZA's doc they always going at Divine.

And Divine and Ghost have a lot of tension from the Mike Caruso stuff
