dudes spent way more time tryin to count solos than they did actually comparing group work.

gee i wonder why.:whistle:
36 and the infamous are both of equal stature. their albums are about even down the line.mobb has more albums under mobb deep. wu tang has better material than mobb
It's tied :merchant:
@White Mike Who you got?
@bigesco Who you got?
@Asantehene Who you got?
Remember - this is just group albums vs. group albums. Wu and Mobb solos cannot be considered.
I see what you did there

:mjlol: in for the tactic of "rza produced the whole album and the entire clan is on it so it must be a group album" because their discography can't fukk with infamous, hell on earth, and murda muzik. as long as mobb and epmd finish 1 and 2 i could really careless tho.

OK OK OK

is wu tang featured on any of those solo albums then?

I cant count wu gambinos cause its a raekwon FEATURING GHOSTFACE KILLAH solo song?

I mean ironman says FEATURING RAEKWON AND CAPPADONNA. Daytona 500 cant be considered?yall aint hip hop

I try to stay away from threads started by weirdo @Wacky D but I wanted to state this: let's not act that there wasn't a stark decline in quality in Mobb albums after Murda Muzik. I love the Mobb. Their music (along with Wu, Nas, Biggie and a few others) was the soundtrack to my early teen years, but Infamy, Americaz Nightmare, and Blood Money aren't classics and pale in comparison to their first three. The narrative on the Coli is that the Wu only had two classic/very dope albums which is false. It's also false to believe that everything the Mobb put out as a group was classic/near classic material.

Infamy shattered my faith in mankind. :sadcam:
This is an incredibly close call for me, even just going off group albums. 36 is one of my favorite albums of all time. And while I don't think Forever was a classic - it was an amazing album. The W started off like it was gonna be a classic...

If it's just group albums it has to be Mobb Deep. Factoring in the solos it's Wu.

To bring more validity to my argument:

36 Chambers, Forever, and the W are about equal or close to Infamous, Hell on Earth and Murda Muzik

Now let's take a look at their albums after those initial three:

Wu - Iron Flag, and 8 Diagrams
Mobb - Infamy, Americaz Nightmare, Blood Money and the Infamous Mobb Deep

That's 2 albums from the Clan. One, I admit was totally lackluster (Iron Flag) but 8 Diagrams was a very underrated album that caught flack partly because of Rae and Ghosts sabotage job.

The Mobb had 4 albums after Murda Muzik and none reached the unbelievable quality of the first three official Mobb albums (I'm obviously excluding Juvenile Hell). A lot of throwaway tracks on all of them, including the one that dropped this year.

not sure breh. i just never understood the logic of trying to turn an album like cuban linx or liquid swords into a full fledged group album. they're both classics, but they're solo albums. if they would've been turned into group albums...god knows everyone in the group would've started fighting over what beats to pick/who was taking the lead and i guarantee you those albums wouldn't of turned out as good as they did. wu has always been too dysfunctional of a group(to me), after 36 chambers. 36 is far and away their best album to me...but i go back and forth between infamous and hell on earth.

The Wu only had 3 group albums after Forever. The W is damn near classic, and 8 Diagrams should be a 4 to anybody who objectively sat down and listened to it. Iron Flag rightfully gets sh!tted on.

The Mobb had 4 albums after Murda Muzik and none reached near classic levels. Infamy gets sh!tted on and the other 3 are not classic or near classic.

So let's cease this narrative that the Wu put out subpar/average/just good albums and the Mobb put out nothing but dope/classic sh!t.

I think Mobb fans should start considering having solo work included also because let's be real: Prodigy as a solo artist has released better albums post Murda Muzik than ANY album Mobb put out post Murda Muzik.

Even more fuel for my argument. BOTH average projects.
Whenever I rank groups/rappers, I just consider the best material. Pretty much every rapper/group has put out a weed plate or two. What's the sense in trying to compare weed plate vs. weed plate. That's the way I do it at least. :yeshrug:

IDK. I'm a die hard Wu fan but I dont think 36, Forever and the W are even close to Infamous, HOE, and Murda Muzik. I think Infamous and HOE are slightly better then 36 and Forever is equal to Murda Muzik. The W is not in the same bracket as any of those albums and I dont even think its better then Infamy
