A question posed on the Rae & Ghost drink champs episode. I forgot who they each picked (anyone remember?), but who's beats do you like better? 4th or True?

For the overall body of work, I think 4th is better, but True's top two beats (Fish & Heaterz) are better than 4th's best. 4th is darker, grittier and that's more my style. But Fish and Heaterz and all time :mindblown: beats.

4th Disciple:

Brooklyn Zoo (true master listed as a co-producer, but Rae & Ghost said it's a 4th beat)

Fifth Disciple (one of the most gutter, sinister beats i've ever heard)

Wu-Gambinos (Co-Produced) but the strings are signature 4th (also co-produced legendary beats Can it be? Guillotine Swordz & Criminology)

BIBLE

Science Project (massively underrated beat)

Older Gods

The Plan

9th Chamber

Wu Renegades (whole Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars is :wow:

True Master:

Heaterz...nuff said

Fish...nuff said

M.G.M.

Flaming Swords

4th was probably my fave from the Wu elements back in the days.... True was dope though, he put in some work for the Wu albums on the low (Heads used to just assume it was Rza).

corrections:

Brooklyn Zoo is True Master & ODB regardless what Rae & Ghost misremembered nearly 30 years later while inebriated.

4th Disciple didn't co-produce anything on Cuban Linx. It lists him as co-mixer on those tracks and he's been asked in interviews since if that credit means he co-produced b/c credits can get mixed up and he confirmed he didn't produce anything for that album but did assist in the mixing process.

My answer is 4th Disciple.

:salute: Good knowledge breh. Those strings on Wu Gambinos sound like 4th, straight up. Maybe he gave RZA the sample? Or Maybe nah he just mix.

4th was always better, to me.

But they both had heat. There were mad beats I thought RZA did back in the day, that 4th did and I had no idea. He was a beast!

both had some shyt, but True Master had "fish" and "brooklyn zoo". Even Rza tried to take credit for Brooklyn Zoo in his VS against primo like all of us in our 40s wasn't reading credits back then. And he also did my favorite Deck song of all time "Lovin you". I first heard that on a mixtape and thought his album was going to be a classic. Unfortunately, "lovin u" was the best song on that album. It's hard to choose one over the other cuz 4th Desciple had some heat too including the Killarmy album and parts of Cuban Linx. I just can't choose

If you picked their best 10 beats then it's True Master for me but overall catalogues I'm taking 4th all day

Both of them are legends
