As if there wasn’t already enough intrigue surrounding WWE 2K15, things reached a fever pitch in July when it was revealed that Sting would be available as a playable character with preorder purchase of the game. It was a significant announcement not only because of Sting’s status as a legend, but also because it marks his first true involvement with WWE.

The promo that WWE and 2K aired was dark, ominous and befitting of the Sting character. As told to Grantland’s David Shoemaker, even The Icon himself was thrilled with his first foray into the world of WWE:

One of the interesting things I read about the promo video was that for anybody who thought the generational gap would be not in Sting’s favor, well, we can put that to rest. The way the crowd reacted was amazing—and even the younger kids who don’t know who I am. The painted face, that video—I’m the sort of guy who’s really hard to please, but when I saw that video, with the violins playing, it was great.

It remains to be seen what type of relationship Sting will have withWWE aside from this video game, but WWE 2K15 should be more than enough to whet the fans’ appetites for now. In fact, those whopreorder WWE 2K15 will have the ability to play as two different iterations of the Stinger.

As seen in this photo, courtesy of WWE 2K’s official Twitter account, both the famed “Crow” Sting as well as the earlier “Surfer” Sting will be part of the game:

There are plenty of characters worth getting excited about in WWE2K15, but none of them can possibly top Sting. Fans have wanted to see him face the likes of The Undertaker, Triple H, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock and many others over the years. While it’s possible that none of those matches will come to fruition in reality, gamers can make them happen in WWE 2K15.

Does anybody know why they never put the entire roster in the game? Other sports games have entire teams, bench warmers, free agents, etc, why can't they do that with a wrestling game? :what:

I read somewhere that this is not the "full" reveal. Probably just DLC characters left to announce tho. If that even is true

i always wondered this too then i thought about it and i think this was mostly just the wwf/e games that always had missing people from the roster

the wcw games always had full rosters shyt even the ecw games were good in that era :manny:

They Usually have a cut off date around WM for the final roster to be in the game but even still some still get left out

usually with the bigger names that are left off around this period usually end up being DLC or people create pretty dope CAW you can download
