The problem is that wrestling fans are too cut-and-dry in their thinking. They see the company troll them over and over again, KNOW that they have a tendency to troll, and then allow themselves to get trolled again.
They don't realize that the WWE WANTS them pissed off because any emotional reaction is better than the fans being apathetic about it. If Bryan were a face champion right now (BEFORE 'Mania), you can say what you want but I'm pretty sure that people would be bored with it...the same way people started getting a bit bored with Punk as a face champion before he got to heel up & spar with Ryback and the Rock. The matches were fine, but there weren't many obstacles for us to get excited about. Didn't he face Ziggler at a PPV? He and Jericho had a classic, but I don't think anyone felt like Jericho was taking the strap.
The only interesting feud where we thought he could actually lose the belt was when he was beefing with Ryback...and they did Ryback the same way they did Reigns at the Rumble: built him up, kept him strong, and teased a future feud.
They're trying to get this D-Bry shyt to boil over before they take it off the stove and serve it. They've got to build up good adversaries for him to play with in the meantime so that they don't give him the belt with nothing to do. I think they're trying to build it up so that we loathe Batista and we'll be foaming at the mouth once Bryan gets a shot at him (for the belt or for contendership). After that, you'll get the rise of Reigns and so on. Folks need to think beyond 'Mania moments. We're only in January.
People just feel uncomfortable, so they complain...
...and I want Sting/Taker...as long as no t-shirts are involved.
