It was announced during tonight’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Memphis, Tennessee that Brock Lesnar will be appearing on next week’s new episode of Smackdown that will air on February 11th.

The show will be taped next Tuesday in Portland, Oregon, and it is one of a few Smackdown tapings Lesnar is scheduled for. Lesnar was also previously announced for the following week’s tapings on February 16th, as well as the March 22nd taping in Boston. It was previously reported that Lesnar was being added to more Smackdown tapings this year in an attempt to strengthen the brand’s image.
What would help smackdown is going live and actually having story lines progress and stop having tag team and DQ finishes for every main event.

What would help smackdown is going live

this is and always has been Smackdown's problem. never understood why even during WWE's best financial years back in the day they didn't air Smackdown live on Thursday nights.

they're on the road 5 day a week anyways. why not just shift the travel schedule from Friday-Tuesday to Thursday-Monday?

Until you can miss an episode of Smackdown and actually miss something continuity wise, there's no use in wasting time watching it. Add in the fact of it not being live with spoilers readily available and it's a perfect situation for someone who doesn't want to sit through a full show.

They would have to go live and do some wild shyt like a WWE title change before I waste time watching it consistently (or even at all since its been well over 7-8 years since I watched a Smackdown episode)

It doesnt necessarily need to be live, during its best years it wasnt live. But there was many reasons to tune into it.

Hell make Reigns defend his title on there. Have John Cena actually have matches there, if the wrestlers aren't gonna tell people to tune into Smackdown why should anyone listen to the commentators?

I don't even think going live is Smackdown's biggest problem.

Pre 2002 brand split, SmackDown was a can't miss show. Storylines that started on RAW always continued over to Smackdown. For example, a babyface gets beat down to end RAW... Then the announcers hype Smackdown.

These days, they just announce a random match for Smackdown outta nowhere, call it a day, then spend half of SmackDown being a RAW recap.

Would the slight boost in ratings offset the cost of going live every week? That's the question WWE asked themselves and they said no

well considering they didn't go live back during wrestling's boom period and today they are so cheap that every PPV set looks the same other than Mania ....no. they probably won't ever do it.

just sayin.... if the show was live it would automatically get higher ratings and add more excitement to watch. imagine if the NFL or NBA started taping games:pachaha:the ratings for those games would drop drastically, but hey they would still please the shareholders by saving 15% on production cost.

Lesnar being on Smackdown won't help anything unless he starts having matches on it

I used to look forward to seeing Angle, Eddie, Rey, etc deliver every single week on SD

I am not looking forward to more Reigns/Ambrose vs 2/4 League of Nation member tag matches every week

Most Raw main events are rematches from the previous Thursday's SD anyways

Having the storylines from Raw continue onto SD (storylines, not just feuds) would help more than going live. Besides, Raw is live and it still feels canned. But if [part 1] happens on Monday, then the next Monday everyone is clearly on [part 3] of the story because [part 2] happened on SD, people would get the point that stuff happens on SD
