WWE Considering Merging Titles

Again…

- It is being reported that WWE is considering merging the US and IC Titles once again. :shaq2:With the company recently bringing back the classic IC title design, and considering that the IC Title has been a WWE staple since 1979, WWE will likely drop the US title after a unification match.

At this time, there are no plans to unify the WWE and World Titles. The reason is that WWE likes having both belts defended on the separate RAW and SmackDown live events.

Thought you were talking about the main titles.( nice swerve) The roster is big enough to keep the IC and US title around though.

I was like :krs: at the thread title

but then was like :snoop: at the post
can't believe I fell for that lol

I kinda don't like the idea actually.....the U.S. title is clearly 4th place and it could benefit an below midcard superstar i.e. Tyson Kidd to grant the U.S. title holder precious airtime on Raw or Smackdown as a champ. with Raw being three hours the 1000th episode could have a first hour like the Royal Rumble for wrestlers from Superstars/NXT/midcarders from Smackdown compete for a shot at the U.S. title at a later PPV. The IC title should only be defended by an established uppermidcarder i.e. Ziggler, Rhodes, etc. someone on the edge to becoming top-tier.

Sadly, i don't think a title really solidifies what your status within the company is anymore, at least not to the extent as in the past, and it's been that way for YEARS now. Remember in the 90's when you won the IC title it meant something, and you were often looked at as the NEXT guy?? That's the reason why the IC title is my favorite title of all-time

The IC title in the 90's >>>>> The Heavyweight Title

ass backwards as usual. They have a roster full of mid carders and not enough main eventers, but they get rid of a mid card belt and keep 2 world titles? :aicmon:

True. Just wishful thinking on my part.
