It’s all good until AEW catch starts beating them in ratings and becoming bigger online.
IF Bryan and punk really signed and I would be surprised if bray didn’t show up before years end. AEW is going to start being a legit contender.

Which is a good thing. Fans need a legit alternative. Wrestling is always better when there is competition

Everyone was in ROH or NJPW, but yet Triple H gets credit for signing & bringing them up in NXT. What's your point? Hangman wasn't widely known to the audience prior to AEW. ROH & NJPW don't have any sort of wide audience like you think it does. He was still a high school teacher until like 2016.

I also don't know what show you're watching, but Miro isn't even close to being over as those 4 names I listed. Either way, AEW has created 4 new stars and aren't dependent on already established guys. I could even add MJF to that list too making it 5. Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy (even though I don't like him, I can't deny he's over) are also some honorable mentions.

That’s why HHH gets credit

:lupe:Maybe WWE is going the "brand name" route and just ho'ing their legacy, while underpaying wrestlers and releasing those that over welcomed their stay.

The wwe has recently gone put of its way to say it's no longer a wrestling company and that it's a content provider etc

Nick Khan said that the wwe no longer uses the word wrestling as if it's an insult.

The guys at AEW are all about wrestling, the wwe is just no longer in the same business as AEW.

Lil Nicky anti wrestling then said their biggest competition is streaming platforms and sleep.

I guess it's Netflix and sleep because in order for Netflix and chill, you'd need to get a willing second participant and based on the last decade of WWE, I feel like it takes a very special person that would do great in the special Olympics to still watch the brand and I doubt those people get to Netflix or chill.

It's more like Netflix and Raw and fat and then sleep

My point is that WWE could afford (in their eyes) to give up Bray, or Braun because their roster is stacked.

again, not saying I agree with that logic.

You ignoramus.

I don't even know why there are debates. One is a wrestling company for adults, the other is a content creator for children that helps them fall asleep and respect abstinence.

2. Why the fukk do people care about q home grown roster, if I had 500 million dollars and opened up a company now by hiring free agents available I'd wait impatiently to sign dudes like Walter, Adam Cole, Okada, Ibushi, Omega, Bandido and New Day the moment their deals expire. Imagine soccer teams not getting Messi because he was developed elsewhere, GTFO with that rhetoric

You ignoramus.

I'm agreeing with you that the WWE finds guys as expendable because they have plenty of talent, but I'm disagreeing with you that AEW has a hard time making new stars when their top acts are all guys they created. Anyway, that's not what this thread is about so whatever.

I think they were cautious in the beginning, but after the first year they saw what AEW is all about, they decided to offload all those contracts. AEW can grow nationally, but that WWE name is global and until they feel threatened there or AEW is signing billions dollar network deals, Vince is just going to do his own thing :manny:
This. WWE recorded record profits last year, cutting a bunch of talent isn’t indicative of financial woes.

yeah AEW deserves tons of credit for Hangmayne. Dude was nWo B-Team status in NJPW, it wasn’t until AEW existed that he got to flesh himself out as a character and personality to where he’s a top 5 babyface in the biz. If not for AEW he’d be the best of a team involving Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale :scust:
