WWE has purchased EVOLVE Wrestling | Wrestling News

It’s official, after weeks of rumors about the future of EVOLVE, news has come out that WWE has indeed purchased the promotion. PWInsider reported the news today and WrestlingNews.co has confirmed the story.

EVOLVE was used as a feeder system for WWE developmental and there had been talk of EVOLVE shows airing regularly on the WWE Network after they announced additional paid tiers. However, rumors have been swirling in recent weeks about the company having financial issues with WWE heavily rumored to have purchased them.

The purchase of EVOLVE gives them access to their tape library that includes names like Mia Yim, AR Fox, Bobby Fish, Eddie Kingston, The Young Bucks, Sabu, Daniel Bryan, Austin Aries, Zack Sabre Jr. Ethan Page, Trent, Cedric Alexander and many others.

Despite occasional plugs from WWE on their website and an EVOLVE special that ran on the WWE Network last year, that was not enough to boost EVOLVE’s business as ticket and merchandise sales were not enough to keep the company afloat.

There is no word yet on how many (if any) of the contracted EVOLVE talent will be offered deals with WWE.

He was but it hasnt been good since Gargano, Page, Sabre and Hero left. It had moments but HHH really raided their talent and they couldnt keep up like ECW in 2000.

It's pretty crazy they lasted a fukking decade. I was never able to get into the DEAD atmosphere almost every show had, but a fukk ton of great wrestlers worked there. For a long ass time it was the main place to watch Yehi the underrated gawd :mjcry:

I remember exactly when it was first announced. This company was supposed to have Davey Richards as his ace :dead: You know that wasn't going to last.

They tried some innovations, like a website with secret stuff and an emphasis in win-loss records and points. Gabe also was very active on Facebook making discussions about the shows and other wrestling stuff. That didn't last either.

Checked most of their initial shows. They were aight. Bryan had a couple great bouts there. Besides that, nothing really memorable. Then I tried to check their most recent era, where they did shows in bars with a couple rows of fans. Not good at all.

It was a matter of time.

If they’re smart they’ll replace NXT UK with EVOLVE. That Young Bucks footage will get no play for the foreseeable future if ever.

Actually the La Boom shows were pretty great with the crowd but i def see what you mean. Most of Yehi's accessible catalogue is in EVOLVE so at least youll have that for the network once they dub the themes

I liked Evolve before 2018 when all the talent had been signed. Indie wrestling gotta be a whole different thing post pandemic. Hopefully another black owned promotion can rise from all this ash.

:francis:Might as well cop Ring of Honor while they are at it.

Sinclair don't want to keep that breathing above water fish around unless it's for backroom financial antics:mjpls:
ROH's library would be a good addition to the WWE Network.

Plus tons of footage to make dope ass video packages for Bryan/Rollins/Cole/Joe...
