Full of spin and lies as I expected BUT it was surprising to hear how honest they were about Invasion being a flop, the cringeworthy forced edginess and the Cena backlash.
In the Cena ep I wish they had covered the feud w/Edge; also the story of him having to explain freestlying to Steph made her sound like the whitest person in America

Well written article. While reading it it hits me that I’m like kinda surprised by how WWE has done this series and I absolutely shouldn’t be at all. I expected way too much
rewriting history has always been one of their specialties

Damn I was a little boy during this time. I had just got back into wrestling and all this shyt was still real to me. Had the action figures and and a ring breh 
John Cena was my favorite wrestler for a lil bit. I even wore a padlock around my lanyard in school

I loved how this ended with Prototype Cena coming out and punching Kurt after sayin RUTHLESS AGGRESSION, Kurt's reaction to him walking down the aisle like will never not be hilarious.. Kurt's reactions are priceless.
This shyt is still in the transitional period tho. Business didn't start picking up a bit again for a good while and in all honesty without the FOX and Saudi Arabia deals they'd still be in a financial struggle.
Nonetheless I love this era because the character work and the in-ring work was all hittin..
It's crazy how they admitted a lot of the mistakes that they made back then but yet they are making the exact same mistakes with today's product

Episode 2 along with talking about Batista’s solo run, Orton “Legend Killer” run, Edge’s official rise, Eddie’s legacy even though they’ve covered it or switch it out for something else, and some other stuff. Maybe the Cruiserweight division
Should be titled The New Breed or something since they were some of the main ones minus (Eddie who was already established) who stepped it up after Brock and SCSA leaving (Rock officially leaving too)

yeah that all sounds terrible and about right. Even the Monday night wars doc was all spin so this isn’t surprising. But it is unfortunate

It definitely did but compared to the lazy ass generic belts they have today, it’s was breath of fresh air and was at least an attempt to make something creative
And the belt they decide to re-design today was the best looking one (IC). Although the new IC belt still looks pretty sharp.
