Is Vince really so shook from the Monday Night Wars that he's trying to keep people who he doesn't care about and who don't want to be there?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has communicated to some of their talent that they will beat any offer from other promotions. WWE made the decision to beat all offers after Bandido signed with ROH over WWE.

Interestingly enough, WWE did not try to beat AEW’s offer to Chris Jericho.

Talent has been told to present all paper offers they receive from other promotions if they want WWE to beat it. In some cases, WWE has stated that they will even double any competing offer if the talent agrees to sign with WWE on the spot.

WWE is responding to all the rumors recently that WWE talent may be looking to sign with other promotions. Vince McMahon does not want an image to set in that talent wants to leave WWE and that there is more money to be made outside of WWE. This is partly why WWE has been so aggressive about keeping Brock Lesnar and why they have started to push some talent that had been unhappy, out of fear that they might leave.

WWE has a significant financial advantage over AEW and ROH and also are willing to just stockpile talent even if they have no real idea how to use them, just as a way to keep them from other promotions.

WWE has been trying to lock talent into longer five year deals, specifically talent that has their existing deals expiring in the next year. The Miz and Kevin Owens both signed new five year deals with WWE recently.

Yes OP he is that shook, petty, desperate to control everything around him, and that shortsighted. Big deals to people who don’t even get used just so they can’t thrive elsewhere. Meanwhile he could simply put in the work to put on a good show and people won’t want to leave.

Vince got that "dog in the manger" syndrome. He got people he don't have any use or plans for, but he don't want nobody else to have them.

So...who y'all think gonna walk into WWE headquarters like

How about this for a change Vince?... maybe hire the wrestlers as actual employees of the company instead of the independent contractor loophole.
even if WWE didn’t want to pay for health insurance, they could at least pay for the rental cars and hotels.

That alone would go a long way for many of the wrestlers making less than 500k because rental car and hotel expenses easily add up $50,000-$100,000 a year.

If you're not the Shield, Lesnar, or maybe Styles, you dont matter in the WWE. They protect Ronda, Charlotte, and Bliss too. Lol.
