Ok so as promised I'm rewatching the 2002 WWF Tough Enough Season 1 and :whoo: how this shyt is night and day compared to this current season. The main things that stood out were:

1. The trainers (Al Snow, Jacqueline, Tazz and Tori... not Wilson) were more encouraging and parent like to the contestants. They were more stern not yelling in a person's face like Billy Gunn is doing.

2. They are actually teaching the contestants tons of stuff in the ring and the side activities were actually related to wrestling like wrestling in the mud... not being in a swamp with gators

3. All the women on here are more natural, no model types no fake t*ts or make up or anything.

4. Everyone was so supportive of each other. They all wanted each other to succeed and help each other out. They wasn't calling each other bytches and fake and other stupid shyt like that.

5. The show was basically 85% in ring training 10% outside training and challenges and 5% stuff inside the house... no wasted bullshyt

6. They spend so little time on eliminations... they just said you ate done You say your goodbyes and back to training... not like now where its 35 minutes of judges talk and Jericho saying random shyt.

7. None of the contestants are trying to become "famous" they wanted a contract because they was passionate and you can see it clearly.

it was also weird seeing certain stuff as well like:

*A young pre breast implants Stephanie McMahon. Her voice was lighter, ultra nicer, not a bytch at all. Just had me like :leon:

*Seeing a younger Josh Matthews train with Al Snow... kinda funny seeing how both of them are buddies at TNA

*Seeing Tazz being a bad ass that he once was... how they dropped the ball on him is :snoop:

*Al Snow was a pretty good trainer, would be good to see him back to train some of the new talent today in the WWE.

Basically what I'm saying is that Tough Enough has lost its way and I'm purely watching this season now for purely fukkery reasons with my TSC brethern... and strangely The Miz

I gotta watch S1 again on the Network. I heard that they piss on Goldberg on more than one occasion and it wasn't broadcast on MTV :leon:

How is Patrick?

He got smark points for tweeting during the live airing of The Beast In The East.

Can he go? I'm not much for these shows, but I immediately wanted to root for dude after seeing his competiton.

I saw a match of his on YouTube and he's still incredibly raw. He didn't have a lot of credible offence and the pacing of his match was really slow. He might be ahead of everyone else here, but he needs a lot of work.

I wouldn't be too harsh on him. He might be a rookie but he's also 19. Dude has by far the most potential out of this season's cast.

Yep, he's not bad but nobody is going to be great in their first year or two. He'll get better once he gets to wrestle better talent

If this is the quality of girls selected for Tough Enough, I shudder to think what the Diva Search contestants will be like. Sara Lee is the only one I could see being in the first three TEs and not looking out of place.

What the first few seasons of TE benefitted from was that wrestling was at its peak while reality tv was still finding its place in pop culture. It was a cash-in attempt without many predecessors, so it still had a legitimately authentic feel, and since wrestling could not do much wrong at the time, it focused on just that - wresling. In the decade plus that has followed, we have had shows about child pageant stars, teenage mothers, secretly drinking your own urine, keeping up with OJ's defense attorney's kids, etc. while wrestling has fallen off in the mainstream. What we have is yet another cash-in, but wrestling isn't in vogue, so they spend more time on conflicts that appear to be more scripted than the in-ring programs of the company the parties want contracts for.

The format suggests that the judges are useless, since they only see what we see. Shouldn't the trainers be the ones who decide? They're the ones training them. That's like a social studies teacher allowing the woodshop, gym, and music teachers to decide if you pass based off what you did during free period.

If you were to show someone an episode of season 2 and season 6, then ask 'em to guess which one was on MTV, they'd guess 6.

Tough Talk's aight, though.
:ehh:

I tweeted to Josh the yeti guy that he should try kissing the miz so people get interested in what he'll do next. And it'd be funny if he did that too.
