My ex wife at the time would laugh her ass off that I was watching it.

Until I put on the one episode about Nightcrawler . Can't remember the name, but it was really deep.

Next thing, we are at X Men 2 opening night.
That's dope. The Night Crawler opening was dope. I wish they gave his character a bit more shine in the movies. Hopefully '97 features him more. Especially the science behind his power.

For sure, that episode was really deep. It was an origin story, and dealt with racism head on.

Going to sound :flabbynsick: , but cartoons had a different vibe back in the day.

Wolverine praying for peace is one of the saddest and realest moments. Troubled soul looking for some peace of mind.

Nightcrawler should have been a main member of the team in the cartoon. Colossus also deserved way more than two episodes. That said, the show was cool. Had a lot of good memories watching it as a kid.

In terms of comics, I would still say that the late 70s- early 80s period was the goat run, since most of the really hot stories in TAS were borrowed from that era.

1976- Phoenix
1979- Proteus
1980- Dark Phoenix
1981- Days of Future Past
1982- Wolverine in Japan

So on and so forth…

Edit: the whole Archangel plot with Apocalypse was based on Fall of the Mutants (1988).
