X-Pac 1, 2, 360 Recap w/ John Morrison - X-Pac's Weekend Arrest, Shooting Backstage Fights, Return to WWE, More!
X-Pac gets into his arrest from this past weekend, and the events leading up to it. He says he checked into his flight without any issues but as he tried to board the plane his ticket was flagged. From there, he was held while Federal police checked his bags. He showed them his marijuana as well as his prescription, but one cop in particular seemed to have it out for him right away.
This officer claimed that X-Pac had too much marijuana to be considered only for self-use. From there his other medicine was tested, and before he knew it he was held for 10 hours and was then transported to jail for possession of narcotics. He spent two days in jail before being bailed out. He says that the ‘meth’ charges are clearly a mistake from the on-site testing, and everything will be proved in the coming days.
He adds that he had $736 on him, and apparently this was a hint that he might be dealing drugs. He laughs at that notion and adds that
Triple H texted him saying, “$736? You’re the world’s
worst meth dealer!”
When the state police arrived they didn’t even want to take X-Pac into custody, but the Federal police officers were determined to have him detained. At one point while testing the drugs, X-Pac overheard one officer from the other room saying, “We have to make this look right”. Overall, he’s sure the tests will come back showing that this was all a huge mistake and he will be cleared of all charges in the coming weeks.

From the Morrison interview:
Morrison says that he’s been relatively lucky throughout his career to have avoided injuries. Other than his neck injury which required surgery in 2011, he has only suffered minor injuries to his ankles and knee. He says that his injuries have never come as a result of performing ‘risky’ moves, rather they always occurred when he was tired or lazy while executing routine moves in the ring.
Morrison mentions that his newest movie, Boone: The Bounty Hunter, which he also wrote and produced is about to debut. He has been working on it for the last four years and even re-mortgaged his house in order to finance the project. He says that he had to go all in to make it happen and he doesn’t regret so because without doing that, he’d have a house but he wouldn’t have a movie.
Morrison mentions that filming action sequences for film helps him with backstage wrestling segments and vice versa. X-Pac says that while working for WWE he’d have to some backstage fights multiple times and that was always an annoyance. He adds that sometimes the talents would refuse to re-shoot a backstage fight because they gave 100% the first time, and anything after that wasn’t as natural.
Morrison informs that all the backstage stuff for Lucha Underground is pre-taped and re-takes are sometimes required. Their in-ring action is all recorded live, with 5 episodes recorded per weekend live in front of a live crowd with no re-tapes.
He admits that there is heavy editing on the in-ring action, and sometimes huge spots get edited and the selling gets cut out. He understands that the show is only 60 minutes and they need to edit some things, but these matches mean a lot to him and selling big moves is very important.
Morrison feels like he has 100% creative control over what he does in Lucha Underground. He’s also confident in his ability to put together a great match now where as when he was younger, he needed guidance from agents and veterans within the business.
He says that he felt stifled creatively towards the end of his run in WWE, and that’s one of the reasons he left. He remembers pitching an idea to for him to have a tanning bed match against . McMahon laughed at the idea initially and seemed to liked it, but Morrison isn’t sure if McMahon took him seriously or not.
Morrison mentions that it’s been 14 years now since he started this journey in professional wrestling and he still feels like he’s in his prime. He feels great and thinks the best is yet to come in his career. He admits that he gets the itch to return to WWE every year around , and he doesn’t rule out a return to WWE after he shoots season 4 of Lucha Underground.
