Turning off servers is normal I expect that, discontinuing a store without have an alternative is whack.

I don't expect microsoft to do this anytime soon, no point spending money and research on all this just to flush it 10 years from now.

This is only at initial set up. After that you NEVER need another internet connection.

With authentication tied to the cmos clock PlayStation consoles will inevitably need an internet connection sometime in the future.
Xbox stans :mjlol:

Watch how suddenly this will turn into a "Oh come on you really expect MSFT to have issues with their servers or turn off certain stores in the next 10~20 years?"
nah I don't actually

They basically gave away Windows XP/7 after it reached EoL

The point is people have selective concern.
Well some "cocern" got Sony to reverse their position, so it's a win I guess? :yeshrug:

Also, it's not fair to assume people who were concerned were concern trolling.
Fans of legacy legacy PlayStation hardware had legitimate gripes.

Facts. Remember all the concern about nikkas on submarines being unable to play games?? :mjpls:

Sony stans :mjlol:
Facts. Remember in 2012 and before we didn't need to be online to play games since online only games weren't really a thing then? Fast forward 8 years and a whole new gaming landscape and now it's normal.

I think this is reasonable. I'm glad people raised their voice whether genuine or not in this case. I'm not a digital person and never will be because of things like this, but it's good that Sony walked this back.

Times have changed. I know you won't admit that it would've been stupid having to have an online connection 24/7 to play games back in 2013 but here we are.
Destiny came out in 2014 we’ve been “always online” since then.

Have you gone more than a week without an internet connection since XB1 release date??

I already know the answer is no, so there would have been nothing stupid about the OG X1 plans. In fact it would have been the bridge between the old way of gaming and the new one we accept today.
