it's not, when i'm spending 400-500 bucks i expect my console to be a basic entertainment device.

why should i have to do that, if my consoles could play DVDs in 2000 i'm suppose to waste a 100 on a shytty roku device on a different input in 2013. nah fam:rudy:

So now the Roku's shytty now?

So you're gonna cop an Xbox One for every room now?

That would be a negative if the gaming side of things weren't stacked with worthwhile features.

Fortunately they are.

Console Reveal was all about TV/Media
E3 all about games

Seems split to me.

Are you forgetting they showed this at the XBOX reveal and claimed that 8 million people was watching, which resulted in them capitulating that E3 would be about games games games. In other words, it was demonstrated for the masses and after E3 a week passes and PS4 dominated them in Pre Orders. They have a tough road to hoe at this point, and I ain't even pimping.

No. They said they were showing off console features at the reveal and games at E3 way before any reaction. And preorders will sell out for both consoles, so those numbers are a wash at this time. Holiday 2014 will be the real test.

:what:

Get a damn receiver :wtf:

How big is your damn couch to where you can't sit your phone/tablet next to you? You can't fit anything else on your couch besides yourself breh?

It's like yal don't know we're in 2013. I can control my Roku and my 360 from apps on my phone/tablet. I can switch inputs on my receiver by pressing 1 button on it. I can have multiple devices running and switch between them by pressing 1 button. Hell when the NBA season was going on I would have the Roku streaming a game, the 360 streaming, and have a game on my tablet streaming.

They spent their whole reveal talking about TV.

You forget that already?
why the hell should I have to pick up my tablet to control two different devices on different inputs . If i'm already watching nba on my xbox one while waiting for my nikkas to get on wtf should I pick up my tablet to switch until my roku to watch netflix in 2013 negro please:kat: :childplease:. I rather do it all in the same UI all in the palms in my hand

yea i did forget I only remember this right now

@GoldenGlove is just a hater. These consoles are entertainment boxes just as much or even more than they are gaming machines. More people use ps3s for Netflix than they do to play games. As much as so-called hardcore gamers hate to admit it, the industry is not yours anymore. You are the minority. Everyone else likes the idea of a minority report like device to control their living room.

Nah if it was up to him, he'd rather watch apps on his roku, internet on his computer, chating on his phone, movies on his bluray player, and games on his 1995 gaming system :troll:

I rather use my roku device cause i like touching my tablet :troll:

Thing is, I'm not really a hardcore gamer at this point. I've used my 360 for streaming more than anything else over the past year. Like I said in the first few posts that I've made, I see what they're going for.

No, I just have a receiver which makes switching between my devices easy as pressing a single button.
You just cant give M $ its props huh.

I appreciate what they're doing. I've used the apps, and I know their value. I have ESPN because of my 360. When the League Pass app was functioning properly, I would use my 360 to stream games. I'm ALL into the streaming, so I know what the goal is... the thing is, I can get my content with the 360 already. Snapping a screen while I'm playing a game just to pull up my fantasy team stats isn't that big of a deal for me.

Well for one thing its good for the people who want the NFL package and cant get it thru their cable company or they are not allowed to get any type of satellite dish service at their APT complex, Condo etc. That's one of the issues that i have where i live. Now if this is just redzone then i can get that thru Time Warner.
I'm in the same boat. I had the Sunday ticket at my old spot now this complex won't allow it :sadcam:.

I ordered the Sunday Ticket thru PS3 last year :scusthov:, I feel like xbox could make it a better experience.

Gang violence...
i dont want to come off as hating. im sure this will be of use to somebody. how many, i dont know but i doubt it will be of much importance considering this is a 500 dollar device that will be sold first on gaming capability, and everything else second, and i havent seen it adapted for soccer which of course will be much more relevant to the rest of the planet...

i've dabbled in being distracted by twitter, and of course if you ever watch any news or sports, you have to deal with the constant crawl of information at the bottom of the screen. after all of this, i have discovered that when im watching the game...i want to watch the game

at the most, i might go on twitter or to the coli during a commercial break. i like it when the action takes up as much screen real estate as possible

This was my initial response during the xbox reveal. I was like...who the fukk really wants to snap something on the side while watching tv or playing a game? I NEVER do that shyt on my pc and I've had this option for YEARS. The only acceptable solution for me has been another monitor on the side if i have some important things refreshing, other than that...full screen mode. I even use chrome on my pc full screen at all times.
