If there is something about the Xbox One hardware that's to blame, it is the way it allocates memory resources, Rubin suggests. As Digital Foundry explains in its recently-published article "Xbox One Resolutiongate: the 720p fallout", Microsoft's console reserves 10 per cent of GPU time for its operating system. As DF's Richard Leadbetter describes it, features such as Kinect skeletal tracking account for "precious resources that are inaccessible to game developers". Rubin discusses this issue, and more, in the below interview.

Through all the residual animosity towards Microsoft, I think a lot of this is being missed. After all the talk of being for the gamers, it's Sony that has taken the more closed "anti-consumer" stance.
They got that price down to only $400 but its obvious they plan to make that money back through forcing people to spend money on their other media services. It's also obvious that from a functionality standpoint the PS4 in some ways is lagging behind the PS3 let alone the X1
It's funny to watch Sony stans defend this shyt(which I'm sure y'all will do in this thread) after months of standing on principled arguments about big bad Microsoft trying to take advantage of the industry.
Now the stans are attacking anyone that calls Sony out for their bullshyt(which I'm sure y'all will do in this thread)
Sony stans
and the bolded is an underrated feature. It means i can buy physical games install them and then not need the disc anymore. So I won't have to download a bunch of 50GB files after all

will any of that bullshyt change the fact the PS4
- Will not support CDs
- Will not support MP3s
- No capture cards at launch
- If you lend someone a game, he downloads it, and then later decides he wants to get the game digitally, he must delete the disk version that he downloaded, buy it online, and then download the game again from the PSN.
- Mandatory install for all disk games
- No DNLA support
- Can only listen to songs from Sonys "music unlimited" in the background while playing a game.
But i will humour you.when's the last time anybody here put a CD in their game console and just let it play? as for the background mp3s thing its a feature i've never bothered using. every single TV i have in the house has DLNA support built into the TV so why should i or anybody with a modern TV even care that the console doesn't redundantly double this feature. even the cheap Vizios sold at Walmart for sub $500 prices have this feature now.
as for the install data. it was said the PS4 caches games and doesn't install the full game disc to the HDD. that's actually something i was wrong about because i thought it installed the full game.
so if i can ask how the hell you gonna play a full game with temp cache data that is likely deleted on your HDD? obviously the XBO must dump the full game image to the HDD and thus game installs take up more space.
people are mostly complaining about bullshyt. features many either hardly use or things that will likely be patched in later with firmware updates.

Well for one thing people who play sports games such as NHL or The Show or NBA 2k or wrestling games care about the mp3 issue with PS4 and it's hardly bullshyt to them if you take a look at operation sports or other sports games websites. Just because you don't care doesn't mean nobody else should care. All gamers aren't clones of you and some may find issues with things you don't care about. Because you have no concern for it hardly makes it bullshyt.when's the last time anybody here put a CD in their game console and just let it play? as for the background mp3s thing its a feature i've never bothered using. every single TV i have in the house has DLNA support built into the TV so why should i or anybody with a modern TV even care that the console doesn't redundantly double this feature. even the cheap Vizios sold at Walmart for sub $500 prices have this feature now.

Actually the ps4 handles installs the exact same way as Xbox. The data is there until you delete it.
As for the rest of your post. All the same stuff can be said for the supposed "anti-consumer" practices for Xbox. Some people are effected by it some dont care. The differnce is microsofts practices would have benefited those that supported them. These practices from Sony benefit no one.
This thread is to compare the reactions from people to the practices, not necessarily to compare the consoles themselves.
Games could be sold. And there are other platforms that disallow customers to resale media. Do you think those platforms are anti-consumer?not being able to sell your games is as anti-consumer as you can get, and i'm glad that M$ changed their stance on it. You should never restrict the consumer's freedom. Just bad business...
Those things are important to a lot of people. They have been a part of the playstation gaming experience since day one. You can say that you don't care, but it's not "trivial" at all. And yes the ps4 is more powerful, but it's become increasingly obvious that Xbox has the most "complete" experience. However things like mp3 support/cd support are all trivial stuff .. more people just want more things built into their consoles. It's only natural. But those things do not hinder your enjoyment of the console. It can still do the most basic thing and that is to play games. And it's been proven that PS4 is the superior of the two consoles and in order to get the most complete in game experience.
You said it yourself functionality is more important to you. I'm not gonna knock you for that. But it doesn't give you the best gaming experience. PS4 does. So while you xbones will be too busy talking to your console and taking pictures of your living room, us PS4 users will be enjoying the real next-gen.
