No man, that wasn't worth upgrading from a ps4 to a pro for. How many of those saw a graphical upgrade from the pro? Only a handful of games now even see a benefit from having the pro.
All of them did, that's why I mentioned them. UC4 already was a looker so it pretty much got a HDR update and a 1440P from 1080P upgrade for SP while MP upgraded to 1080P/stable 60fps from 900P/~60fps on PS4.
TLOU:R now had a native 4K/30fps option or a 1800P/60fps with HDR. The other games all had their own upgrades. Only a handful of games don't have Pro benefits, you got it the other way around.
If you didn't have a ps4 which most people did on this board then yes getting a pro made plenty sense.
I had a PS4 and upgraded. It wasn't much to upgrade since I sold my Ps4 towards it.
Saying that whole line up is redundant because they offer it on pc doesn't make sense to me. Its a different platform online experience and even gaming experience. Alot of companies don't really care about the pc versions of there games unless the game is built for the PC crowd.
Uhhh no. Xbox One/PC cross buy games offer the same albeit better experience on PC. Forza Horizon 3 for example I can play it obviously at 4K/60fps and still cross play with Xbox One users. Killer Instinct, Gears of War 4 all offer cross play. It's the same network. Do you game on PC? There's only a handful of "bad" PC ports released from time to time. Most PC releases I've bought lately have been fine. Hell Tekken 7 just came out and it's very optimized and online works. This "PC games have bad ports" is often exaggerated.
Off the top here are games that I would be highly upset if I bought on PC over a console.
Deus ex
Mortal kombat
Guilty gear
Nier
Batman
That's only a handful and on top of that some of those games have gotten fixed already. The same argument was said for the PS4 Pro or Xbox 1/PS4 when some games launched with worse performance or was broken.
The list goes on and on. Games aren't usually optimized for PC the fact that I can buy an xb1 1st party game and get it for free on PC and its optimized on both is somehow a bad thing?
Actually it HASN'T been like that though. Forza Horizon 3 just got an update LAST MONTH that finally fixed a lot of issues on PC whereas the game came out since September last year. Also buying a Xbox 1 1st party game doesn't require the Xbox... That's the whole point.
The multi plat games at this point should all be purchased on Scorpio going forward. If you could upgrade from a ps4 to pro for "better Optimization and quality of games" then getting a scorpio should be light work.
An argument can be made that the PS4 Pro offers an incentive(PS4 first party exclusives), that can't be found elsewhere. Then there's the MP pool and what friends have angle. That can be said for Xbox too btw. The differences between XB1 Scorpio and PS4 Pro won't be this night and day thing that folks are making it out to be. The CPU is still largely the same. If one has a PC then this "multi plats going forward" argument is null since multi-plats 95% of the time will be better on PC.
No one is saying its a must have but unless the people that had ps4 and upgraded to ps4 pros where die hard sony fan boys it doesn't make sense not to get a Scorpio when it drops now since all the information that is being given to us clearly shows that its going to be the superior machine for multi plat games among other things.
we haven't seen how much this difference makes. It's all speculative and PR nonsense.
I have a gaming PC that's far more powerful than Scorpio or PS4 Pro, the PS4 Pro was worth it solely because there's a ton of 1st party titles i can't get on PC. On PC I can get every Xbox 1st party title. I already play FH3 at 4K/60fps, I already seen Halo 5 at 4K. A scorpio doesn't change that.
