You are talking about one company that's been loosing money for almost a decade, and one that has been rolling in cash, and has shown a will to throw cash around.

I really don't know what the prices will be, but I do know Microsoft has the larger incentive and ability to have a low cost console.

If that were the case, they'd be selling xboxes for the low low. That's not how shyt works.

Xbox Division is a drop in the bucket compared to everything else MS does.

They're not gonna have the Xbox one selling at 200-300 bucks and have the Scorpio at 400 or even 500 bucks.

Now if they indeed intend for this to be a premium machine, it's gonna be 599 easy. But if they make it affordable....

I still intend on getting a Scorpio barring a ridiculous price.

I hear you, but they have to be cognizant of what the high prices did to them. This is the last Mattrick fukk-up to fix. They can afford it as a chess move to get back in the game. Just a question of if they have tested heart. They could technically give them away for free if the attach rate holds up.

I would say that if they had exclusive games going for it. But you have all the games going to PC and plus the games will still play on all the underpowered Xbox one's which is still the more affordable option for the casuals. Only people I see buying this are super die hard xbox fans. The PC enthusiast will still probably build on a PC and now hearing all the exclusives are coming to that platform what gives them the incentive to leave.

You stuck looking at the power difference. It's about the cost of the chips. AMD just put out a low cost 6 tflop chip. It's better than the line before it and it's lower initial cost.

Even if they sell this console at 599 which I think is the minimum they will sell it. By the time this comes out the NVidia gtx 1080 and 1070 will be alot cheaper and those cards are probably more powerful then what your getting in the scorpio. All I'm saying is this if there selling this console above 399 or 499 it's going to flop. Xbox one dropped to 399 and still have a hard time selling and now with exclusives on PC it's a wrap. Honestly I would be saying something different if Xbox were dropping the scorpio and introducing new games to the console that I couldn't play anywhere else but there giving out too many options that are cheaper alternatives.
