too many remasters and not many new game franchises. Now we're getting upgraded hardware consoles for the consoles we paid $500 in 2013.

This. Take Doom for example, when u die while playing snapmap tha shyt takes forever and a day to load. Its so bad i sold the game, i was banking on riding the wave since i beat the game twice but waiting that long was a deal breaker for me

Aside from a handful of titles, not really. More energy seems to be spent on these stupid ass remasters and lackluster sequels which are nothing more than money grabs...and now to top it all off they introduce another system that's gonna cost hundreds of dollars for no reason. shyt reminding me of Sega CD, and we all seen how that worked out.

It looks like both to me. It's supply and demand. People fall into this trap of thinking that just because they don't like it that should mean that everyone else shouldn't. Lots of cats like the remasters whether we like it or not. If people didn't want them, the sales would indicate that. Cats obviously do want em.
And you can't say a handful of titles that Sony develops when every gen they introduce multiple new IPs.

Not familiar with the rest, we'll see how it pans out. Yo forgot no mans sky, but all in all, the field is still not impressive to me, not for what the potential this new gen held going in. It's been 3 years, I feel like I should be turning my PS4 more than just once or twice every few months.
As for remasters, yeah there may be a demand for a few classics to be remastered, but not to the extent that that we are getting. With all the capabilities of what these new consoles can do, we shouldn't be getting so many, that's all I'm saying. It's oversaturated, and it just seems like these devs are taking the easy way out instead of being creative. Then they try to bang you out with DLC on top of that, I mean, is this really what people want?
And if we are talking about demand, who the fukk was demanding a new "upgraded" PS4 that's gonna cost the same as a fresh new console? Nobody.
But yeah, to be honest I outgrew gaming a while ago. I don't have the time to invest so many hours in these MP heavy games, or games like bloodborne that demand time and dedication to truly appreciate and complete. I guess I just have to take the L there, I'm just venting my disappointment because I do enjoy playing videogames when there's something catered to what I'm looking for. It seems like those days are over. Oh well
It was time for a slim, but Sony realized the cost to manufacture the console specs in the Slim PS4 was cheaper now. So instead of a slim they just packed in more of a punch in the Neo. And I kno more power will benefit PSVR, but Sony is not upgrading the specs on the PS4 for no VR. Standard PS4's already have a mandate on them in terms of performance.
