The debate isn’t unbiased at all and this forum becomes like children arguing over their favorite toy. It’s stupid. I been telling these cats what to expect from these consoles since 2013 and haven’t been wrong yet and nikkas STILL somehow argue with me for pages over this bullshyt.
nikka you wrong right now:martin:

No I’m not. Why is an RTX 2070 2 Teraflops less than a GTX 1080 and still bodies it in every game? Why is a Radeon 5700 XT MORE Teraflops than an RTX 2070 Super yet the 2070 Super still bodies it? AMD’s not as good at gaming architecture as Nvidia or even Intel. It’s the main reason AMD is killing Intel with their CPU’s productivity wise but the i9 9900k still beats their CPU’s that cost almost triple the price when it comes to gaming performance. Intel gets literally smoked in everything else tho. Bottom line is Teraflops don’t tell the whole story. shyt the way it’s measured between companies is even different.

Obviously AMD Tflops and Nvidia Tflops don’t compare.

but the 5700 is already pretty much on par performance wise with the 2070.

The 5700 is only 9.7 Tflops. Series X is 12 with all the console specifics and optimizations it will easily outclass the 2070 and be pushing up close to the 2080 performance wise.

nikka do u not understand that the 2070 Super beats the 5700 and the 5700 has MORE Teraflops than the 2070 Super? Actually 2.5 more. That’s all I’m trying to say. Teraflops ain’t the end all be all. I said in this thread already that the Series X is gonna be stronger than the 5700 XT and more on par with the 2070 Super if not a lil better. I’m just arguing wit the nikkas talkin bout the shyt is gonna be fukkin with a 2080ti. nikkas need to chill out. Will it give u a great experience? Damn straight. Will it be possibly the best value in gaming/performance on the market? Damn straight. Will it fukk with a 2080ti? No way. nikkas need to calm down. Lol

I never said Tflops were the end all be all.

Im saying AMDs strongest card right now is only 9.5 Tflops and the series X will beat that by 2.5 flops.

Not comparing AMD Tflops to Nvidia. But AMD flops to themselves. 9.5 to 12 is over 25% increase in power. On top of the added efficiency in moving to next gen chips.

If the 9.5 tflop AMD card is on par with the 2070. Then adding 2.5 more flops will make it far and away better than the 2070 super, and the closest thing to a 2080ti you can get.

I wish nvidia had started on making SoCs earlier and hasn't fukked up their relationships with Sony and MS. PS5 and Series X could have had a 3000 series Nvidia chip which would have been even more powerful than what we're getting.

Lets factor in a few things. 1440p yea the 5700XT is right there with a RTX2070. But at 4K the 2070 and 2070 Super performs significantly better. And this is with less Teraflops I might add. Now let’s look at this part. Also. AMD is just not as efficient or stable as Nvidia. Their heat distribution isn’t as good. And their GPU drivers aren’t good either. There’s a lot that factors in. Now. With those extra Teraflops on the AMD. U gotta factor the Ray Tracing shyt they are implementing. Which I’m pretty sure will factor into that extra horsepower as well. 20% more power than an 5700XT is about around a lil under an RTX 2080. A lil over a 2070 Super. Which is what I been trying to tell u guys. Also. By the time these consoles release. Nvidia will already be on to their 3000 series. Which will make the gap even higher.

No, you are wrong
Nvidia RTX 2070 vs AMD RX 5700 XT vs RTX 2070 Super: Which is best? | Rock Paper Shotgun

The 5700 already holds up to those cards. The super may get a couple extra FPS but that doesn’t matter when most games will be locked at 60fps anyway.

now add 25% performance, extra efficiency, console optimization. And your claims of it being “a lil over a super 2070” are absolutely wrong.

Games on series X will run at whatever settings and spec a 2080 can run.

When u raise the res past 1440p the 2070 Super walks away from the 5600XT. At MOST I can see a 2080 but damn sure not a TI.

I can't wait until those new cards come out. I'm getting the 3070 if the price is right next year April since it'll be 4 years since I got the 1070 which is STILL really damn good. I just loaded up The Division 2 on there and at 4K with a mix of high/medium settings I can hit somewhere around 40~60fps but if I lower the resolution scale to 85% and turn on Nvidia Freestyle sharpen, I get a boost in FPS while still looking VERY sharp. shyt is amazing. That's the beauty this card was doing way more than what either of the two "pro" models did and on top of that I didn't have to wait that long. I was already 4K'ing and shyt since early 2017.

In most games, no it doesn’t the benchmarks are there. Some or really only one game there’s a huge gap. Other than that the AMD card is right there with them.

look at it this way.

the 5600 is about 2.5tf weaker than the 5700 and the average difference in performance is about 15-20 FPS.

The difference in performance between a 5700 and a 2080 right now is about 15-20fps.

So adding 2.5 Tflops to the 5700 we should see it perform really close to the 2080

:dwillhuh: Bro. This is literally what I been saying the whole time. That the Series X is gonna be between a 2070 Super and a 2080. With the 2080 being the high mark. We are agreeing here and u arguing with me.

Bro. I’m getting 3080ti faster than I can blink when it comes out. Lol. shyt I may just create a whole new build just for that card. I have a Gigabyte Z390 Designaire motherboard just laying around brand new in the box for no reason. And a brand new case as well. I’m just gonna build a new rig around the 3080ti.

AMD CPUs have higher IPC at this point.

Intel barely wins in gaming because gaming prefers faster cores at it's only noticeable at 1080p and below.

AMD CPUs hit a brick wall after 4.2 GHZ.

GCN was compute heavy which is why AMD GPUs did not scale well vs NVIDIA GPUs

Navi is on par with Turing driver issues permitting. We haven't seen Big Navi.
