I don’t think it’s good for our industry if we got into a point where people are holding back the technical innovation of game developers based on a marketing deal. I don’t know anything about what’s in other people’s deals. But this, clearly, from a technical perspective, is the most powerful console by quite a wide margin. So, when I stood on-stage and I said this will be the best place to play all those games, there’s nothing technically that would keep any developer from not making that true

Since you're spinning this let me spin it as well, because what I get from that quote is that Microsoft is placing all of their bets on hardware.
They aren't trying to compete through console exclusives.
They feel that if they (MS) provide the strongest hardware, devs HAVE to make games for XB1X first and should eventually abandon all other consoles.
To me this shows how out of touch he is to the video game consumer base.
XB1 didn't lose (in sales) because of hardware, they lost because they out priced themselves out of the market at launch, had sloppy PR, and have not had the console exclusives necessary to close the gap since their failure to successfully launch better than PS4.
This narrative that one platform is holding the other back due to hardware restrictions is some full blown bs that sounds like he pulled straight from the arcadium.
PC gaming has been launching games across mulitple hardware configurations for decades and no one in that camp is complaining about one hardware setup holding back the entire genre.
