I went to a Hitmen game at the old Giants Stadium in February of 2001. It was the coldest I've ever remembered being.

Vince is smart and doesn't take s-hit from anyone, very hard to paint him into a corner.

it could've worked for sure, but where they messed up was associating so much with WWF(the Rock being there, etc).....people were making comments that the league might be rigged. It was a mistake to think they could bring the wrestling crowd over. And then the constant shots at the NFL didnt endear it in the eyes of the media like ESPN(who killed it every time)

And finally, maybe most importantly, the first few weeks of play weren't very good b/c they only had a 2-week training camp and the players were outta sync. But by like week 4-5, they had dropped the WWF associations, the play was good on the field. But people had already tuned out.


Would've been dope tho to have a league where your fav college players that didnt get drafted got a little more chance to shine and still audition for the NFL.

I honestly think this league might have came 10 years too early……

It would actually catch on now that Roger Gooddell & player safety is destroying the best sport in the world.

I went to every Hitmen home game, coldest fukking sports event ever, beers would freeze in the cups.

Gotta say I liked the league, the media made it a point to bury it though just cause it was McMahon.

Look at sports now though, they're ripping off XFL big time

-NFL doing away with the PAT
-NFL with the camera above the huddle and on the field
-NBA gonna be doing the nick name jerseys

Vince's biggest mistake was not running in smaller stadiums and on a smaller network.

who really would want to deal with 2 leagues people are going to watch the superior talent league and the one with the history the NFL...NFL contracts probably wouldn't allow their players to play in XFL during offseason
