XXL Freshmen is based on buzz, not who you stans relate to the most. Based on BUZZ, the following should make the list:

stalley
dom kennedy
azealia banks
alley boy
riff raff

Keeping it G. I dont even think Stalley should be on it. He is already established. He is on MMG for crying out loud , they need to use this for rappers on the up and up.


Edit: I do think they need to put that nikka Armvnii on it tho. He on that futurisitc wave shyt , but he prolly gon end up being on the 2014 cover

The XXL is still a good promotional look.

only Lupe and Boosie have done anything. Dro and Rich Boy had great debut albums. but other than that

not true, Lupe is by far the most successful out of his class but to say him and Boosie are the only ones that did "anything"......I can't agree with that.

Plies has released more or the same amount of major label albums as Lupe.

Rich Boy had a few singles off his first album and then went into relative obscurity.

Joell Ortiz and Crooked I are part of supergroup Slaughterhouse who are signed to Shady/Interscope.

Dro and Zoe had short-lived careers but they should be good if they saved up their money during their runs.

A lot of under-achievers and stagnation but Papoose is really the only utter failure on that list...as he is the only one that has failed to put out his debut solo album.

The best years were the ones with Spitta, Blu, BOB and Wale, and then the next one with Krit, Kendrick, Wiz, Meek Mill, Yelawolf etc. These people had an actual BUZZ

After that, its like they took the premise of throwing wackness like Lil Twist on it and went over-the-hill with it
