Wasn't Methodan ran out of the summer jam stage because he was Unc' status :mjlol:

You ain't getting no new young listenes at 50, unless you very very exceptional

You either have a solidified fanbse that always followed you or you done

Another formula is to team up with a youngin, but you have to find one

Yeah for sure. I see Busta Rhymes always doing this but its not hitting :wow:

We're here writing off older MCs that haven't dropped in a while, but you have to remember that a lot of "relevant" rappers today are also close into unc status. Griselda is old. Roc Marc is old. Alc is old. Nas is old. 2 Chainz is old. E40. Czarface. Currensy. Etc. You still have Hip Hop fans who will wait on their next projects. They're not discarded like that. Old is not the main factor. Even Future in his 40s, I think. Drake, J Cole and Kendrick are old too. The main thing is a lot of 90s rappers took some down time, recouped, toured overseas, lived life, waited for their contracts to expire, or just plain fell off. They seem older because we saw them in the game a long time.

We call them old but it's mostly that they fell off. The game respects you if you drop hot shyt. Ice Cube is a GOAT but he hasn't been dope in a minute. Still plays at the World Series. Meaning old doesn't mean you're out anymore. It's like you have to do more than just music, or put out endless music to get a buzz and stay in. Guys like KA reinvented himself and dropped project after project and came back to relevancy. Mic Geronimo did not. If you don't drop a lot of hot music you fall off, it's that simple. And conversely, you don't have to be in your 20s to pop off, but you DO need to do the internet grind. Be out there. Someone like AZ or Grand Puba never promotes themselves, while Lord Jamar been feuding with Eminem (also old), so Jamar seems more relevant than them. Is he better? Hell no, not on his best day he can out rhyme AZ EVER. But Jamar's out here doing interviews, doing the internet game. He makes money and his name is known. If you can't find a way to stay out there, in the internet era, you aren't so much old, as you are outdated and left behind.
