What was wrong with his single "Kush"? I won't lie, I loved that joint...and I still play it from time to time.

What was that single actually for? Was that on any album at all, or just some randomly released single?

It was for Detox. I liked it too. I Need a Doctor was weak.

Lyrically, if Detox did drop, I would assume it would just be more "you thought I fell off, but I'm the doctor" type lyrics. That's all Dre has done since "Been There, Done That." And that's fine.

Dre used to put in work back in the day though, I was bored at work the other day and noticed that Straight Outta Compton and Easy Does It dropped within a month of each other, both produced by Dre. He might have done more during his few years on Ruthless than the rest of his career- DOC, NWA's albums, the first Above the Law (sort of), JJ Fad, Easy, etc.

Like another poster said, Dre is the type that needs an Eazy E or a Suge to kick his ass and overrule him.

This nikka Dre wanted to throw Deep Cover in the bushes before Suge overruled his ass. Deep fukking Cover :mindblown:

"I see a finish line right now, I'm wrapping it up, I need about two or three more songs and hopefully I will start the mixing process at the end of next month and from that point I am about 30 days out, so I'm excited about it." Dr. Dre #2010

:pacspit:

I'll still be listening though :ha:

what the fukk? Granted I don't follow him that closely...but what the hell?

His last album, 'God Save The King' is his "saved" album and half of it is the Copy you'd expect the other half is him and this faggy producer named J. rose making lite rock corny shyt. They remade Dire Straights 'money for nothin' (I want my MTV).

It's pretty corny.

What about his music though, it's an artist album after all not a compilation. I haven't heard anything ground breaking from Dre in over half a decade. What made Dre's production sound so great was that it was ahead of its time with the crispness, but with modern technology doing that for us he's obsolete.
And content wise Dre has no direction. Nobody wants to hear a young gangsta rapper nowadays let alone a 50 year old on forbes list.

Nah breh, till this day, aint nothing sounding like a Dre beat..

you know a Dre beat when you hear it.... that shyt be like :whoo::ohhh:

even when we got unmastered tracks like Topless, that shyt was still so good, that you knew once it was properly mastered it would be epic.

while the playing field has leveled to an extent, but even with Kush...his shyt wasn't sounding like anything else out at the time.

I Need a Doctor was :gag: but nobody was putting out anything with a sound that full either...

Even on the "Compton" track that Just Blaze did, you can tell Dre did the mixing on it.

Dre and DJ Quik are music nerds to the point where it doesn't matter how great the technology gets, they'll always be 5 steps ahead.

Dre has always had lowkey bytch tendencies, and it really manifests itself in how fickle he is with putting out music.

" :wrist: i dont wanna put it out if it's not world changing...i cant be just put out anything"

his perfectionism is akin to the lightskinned bytch who spends 4 hours getting ready for a house party, and takes so long that nobody really wants to fukk with her cause she's never ready on time....... but cause she looks fly as fukk and shuts shyt down when she does finally come out, they still fukk with her.

I dont think it's that.

I just think it's not easy to come up with a great beat, or a great song.

So he covers it with, "Still takin my time to perfect a beat"
