You mean the brown bag delivery? That's how I got food sometimes. I was given the bag and told don't look in it. Cross the field to Peach street project and give it to Peaches. Peaches was a gangbanger with a silk press. I got a 20 for it.

Sardines and rice that night. My Mama ask where I got the money I told her I was cutting yards and washing cars, then I graduated to Peaches showing me to cook it soft or cook it hard.

I got sleep issues still today cause Mama would put us to bed and Dad would get upset from the racism at work and made he got kids to pay child support for so he would wait til we go to sleep beat Mama

Quick story....our family got busted by the swat team ....they made a whole episode on tv about our shyt....it's called Nastyboys....anyways I remember my dad trying to flush that shyt and this cac mfer put his gun to my pops head and said "do it n***Er"

I was right there breh...I seen the whole thing...they busted every single windows out our house that night

It's slightly off topic, but have you considered branching out of art into literature? I guarantee you that if you wrote down your experiences as a black child living in poverty , you may have a lot of awards coming your way. As black people these stories of poverty are commonplace to us and undervalued, but white people absolutely eat that stuff up like crack.

You may even be able to grow your career by feeding off of your literary acclaim. You should Seriously consider writing down those stories and getting an editor.

American fiction was lowkey telling the truth. A while ago I actually tried publishing in historical academic journals, and you'd be surprised the vast majority of the award winners are about ethnic struggle.
