WHAT YOU NIKKAS WANT!

good post brehJay-Z in the late 90s to early 2000s was every bit as popular as Wayne and Drake are right now. If by peak you mean record sales dominance then no. When Jay was selling his most records, so were a lot of other people (X, Ja, Juvie, then of course Em). But Jay was beating Ja and X at all the award shows until Em came along. It was almost like when Alicia Keys kept beating India Arie. Drake will stick around for the same reason Jay does, unlike Ja or 50, his album sales are not entirely hype and single-driven. People by Drake albums to hear his "deeper" records. They have bought into Drake the person. That's why Jay-Z remains, he has that core audience that bought into him and will buy his shyt off principle. He can still make hits that will draw in commercial fans and Drake can certainly do that as well, but neither of them entirely abandons their "base." Guys like Nelly and 50 never had a base, they were just that dude who had the records people loved but they never had love for the artist. That same type of love for the artist is why J. Cole will be around longer than people think. But if you define fall off as not being the complete alpha dog then yeah, he'll fall off from that. The new hotness always sells more.

real talk i still think "i wanna get you know you" is the best song that came out of all those g-unit group albums/mixtapes

Drake is one of my personal favorites of the new gen. But we cant escape facts here.
Every major star "falls off" , it usually happens harsher to those who have a complete stranglehold on the game. Those type of artists who define eras and times.
Cats like
LL Cool J
DMX
50
Ja
Nelly
Wayne
etc.
Drake's success is in line of all of these fellas, and you know how America is, we build you up to tear you down. Once the public is "done" with you. You are pretty much finito.
Ya think Drake is gonna be able to bob and weave this like how old man Hov? Will he fight against it and struggle for half a decade like 50. Or will he accept his fate and understand his time is finished. And most importantly, who will be the successor to Drake. Who is gonna take the throne from him? And when is this shift gonna happen?
PS: It aint Kendrick![]()

So you putting wayne and drake lyrically above dmx?lyrically Drake is better than all of those artists besides Wayne (hes better now).

You do realize this dude gots the Jewish connect. He already gots his label, ovo clothing sells very well at his concerts. If he wants to expand he can and probably will. He also has the only hip hop festival in Canada that continues to flourish. Dude probably got millions invested in stocks and other ventures that he would not let you know about...thats how Jews operate. They will make money and you will not know where it came from. Let Nicki do Nicki, ain't know way she got the kind of people in her circle on the level that Drake got. Y'all nikkas out here thinking he is going to fall off and be broke like MC Hammer.
Now I didn't say all that! LOL, I'm just saying his star is starting to dim a little because he has been the game for a while and isn't going any higher. I think he is peaking. That's all.
