My favorite is Goldfinger, but after rewatching them all, it made me appreciate the first two Austin Powers movies, and how well they spoofed the series. Which Bond movie had the shark tank? Dr. No? Either way that was hilarious on the rewatch
Rewatching them now it’s pretty much the British version of a grown man watching a superhero movie and instead of some spandex outfit it’s a suit.
I’d say the better “James Bond” films are the originals. Maybe the first 2-4 movies ever made with Sean Connery.
After that James Bond just seem…out of place. I think after the 60s a gman walking around in a suite is hilariously and basically spawn an entire genre of comedy. (Austin powers, etc)
They are great action movies everyone. A view to a kill is a great 80s action movie, instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger playing in it with his funny accent they got Christopher walken to be a villain with a funny accent. Like I said this stuff just writes itself. The Craig era capitalized on the Bourne phenomenon of the late 2000s with brutal fast past action. Piers brosnons James Bond was bittin the 90s Steven seigal style hard. I think roger Moores Bond was the most original but his movies are so over the top it’s almost a paradoy movie.
But when I think of James Bond I think of Sean Connery in from Russia with love or gold finger.
I've watched all of them in a marathon about 15 years ago, including the "fake" one Never Say Never Again.
They've aged pretty badly and some of them are kinda boring to watch today.
The Moore ones are too campy.
The Connery ones are cool, so I hope the next Bond is a period piece.
Craig brought the Bond films back. Best Bond since Sean Connery.
Casino Royale is easily a top 3 Bond film.
However many of Bond films are pretty bad. Even some of Craig ones like Spectre were really boring to watch. Their franchise does not have a consistency for sure.
Brosnan was my favorite, mainly because that was my era, but I still like The World Is Not Enough as one of the best. I like the Connery joints I've seen, Roger Moore stuff is silly, but they're enjoyable. Daniel Craig is a mixed bag. I'm glad hes done, its time for someone new.
One day I'm gonna sit down and watch them all from the 60s to now.
Bond movies are my shyt. Watched all the originals with my pops, and kept going with the modern ones.
Over time, I've realized that Casino Royale and Goldeneye are my likely two favorites just off of sheet amount of times I've rewatched them. To this day, if I see that Casino Royale is on TV, I'm probably watching it to the end from wherever I came in.
Underrated theme song would be "You Only Live Twice"
I really think they should stop making ones set in current times and do retro versions. Most action movies are only as good as their villains, and the Villains have sucked for the most part. Except for Javier Bardem/Killa from No Country for Old Men. And I needed to watch YT explainer videos to understand why he's such a good villain.
