Y'all ever get nervous on a new job? Am I overreacting?

I'm about to start a new job too so gotta make sure I'm on point. At least for the first couple of months.

Show up 30 minutes early everyday just for appearances, lean in and participate to a certain degree (even though I don't know shyt about what's going on in this particular firm internally) and constantly offer potential solutions to issues.

Err on the side of being more eager because we are perceived to be lazy and I know personally some people view me as too calm and collected at times so it throws them off.

Then once you get the vibe of things you can relax a bit as they begin to establish trust in you.

It's ridiculous but the place I was at before despite knowing my boss in a prior job they still didn't trust me to the day I left. My boss and I remained cool but her boss hated me. So sometimes it's just a losing battle and you gotta cut your losses.

I really hope this one isn't the case and I can just really vibe with the team from the jump and just dig in without having to worry about how I'm being perceived but rather how we can accomplish these goals.

Yeah you have to play the game for sure. It seems that my peers appreciate what I'm doing. I'm getting more confident in my ability and offer my input. Some of them even asking me questions.

I have one guy on my team that is younger and actually has been trained by his friend (who is also in the same role on my team) that is always eager so I have to make myself more noticeable as a result.

Compared to when I wrote this and now things are improving for sure.

Just remember when you pay your bills with a sigh of relief. It's incredibly hard to make money in an entrepreneurial manner unless you got the investor hook up.
