long story super short I missed a barber appointment that I made, but I wasn't feeling well and my phone was messing up even tho I tried to call him twice

1st off he charged me an extra fee for missing the appointment, but my thing is if you charge customers for missing appointments you should tell them that WHEN THEY MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. I was like I didn't know that and he hands me some flimsy a$$ pamphlet, but I just charged it to the game and got my cut.

Then he admitted that he got mad and I checked him man to man that it wasn't no reason to get mad because ANYTHING could've happened.

HeII my one of my family members just got shot to death last week, so even tho I'm a nice, quiet dude who's positive I didn't have time for the petty sh1t.

then dude caught another attitude cuz he asked me did I want the razor, I said no at first then in a few minutes I changed my mind and was like use the razor, he didn't raise his voice or nothing but the nicca asked with an attitude "is that everything, you sure", and I'm far from a sensitive dude but I straight up asked the nicca did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?

The thing is the barber was mad cool the first time I went, gave me A LOT of hair care advice that I never been told, and washed my hair for free even tho they charge. That's why I didn't tell him about his a$$ and left, because if he said one more thing I would've gotten up in the middle of my cut and left without paying and would've dared him to charge me anyway.

Good news is we talked and everything got peacefully resolved, and he repeatedly let me know we're good....But, if he catches another attitude I'm finding another barber, which pisses me off because he's a great barber with the most hair and scalp advice I've ever heard. I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face, but I'm not paying somebody my money if they have an attitude problem. But like I said the conflict resolved peacefully so hopefully it stays that way.

My thing is he's not the first barber I left because they tried to get pissed at me. My first barber I had genuinely got mad at me because I had a lil dandruff (was sick that week too so I just took quick showers without taking the extra time to let the shampoo and conditioner set on my head in the shower because I was physically weak). That was the last time I went to his punk a$$ for a cut.

My thing is everybody says support Black businesses, but the truth Black people have the worst customer service with other Black people, but they never give attitude to white people, smh.

Another family member of mine went into an African art store and got treated completely shytty.

I know I went off on a tangent a lil, but did any coli brehs have any issues with rude barbers, or Black businesses in general ?

I’ve never had an issue with a barber being mad about some weak shyt like that. Dandruff is common and easily remedied. To be mad at that as a barber is sus.

Anyway, I learned to cut my own shyt a few years back. The only thing I’d go in to a barber for is probably a fade but I usually keep mine a Cesar.

I missed only one appointment in the last 10 years I been with my barber.

I CHOSE to pay full price for the missed appointment then just book another day to get my hair cut (paying again)

You need to put some respect on the game. Treating your barber like just another corporate business is like treating your brother as if he’s just a coworker.

Yeah, I scheduled an appointment through an app for a different barber because my regular was on vacation. Go to the shop and he’s not there because he’s at his other job.

I text him and he said he’ll be there on Thursday from 9 am to 9 PM. I’m there at 7:35 and I see the shop is closed.

So I set an appointment with my regular barber for Saturday.

You're in the wrong my yute.

Unless you confirm the cancellation in advance, you are depriving the man of billable hours.

Not surprised that he caught attitude with that last minute change to wanting your line up done with a razor. When you initially declined, he would have tried giving you a clean line up with the clippers. You effectively wasted his time which is made worse by you failing to recognise that you wasted his time when cancelling without notification.

Start behaving like a man.

I had to cut off ties from one of my barbers a year ago because he became a crazy and paranoid conspiracy theorist and claimed that Black people voting in general is a form of White supremacy while also playing lowbrow Hebrew Israelite Youtube videos on his TV as a form of "enlightenment."

I went to other barbers for a while but we ended up reconciling after I asked him to just talk about regular shyt when I stop by. He's been getting better at that.

I tried to call multiple times and he didn't answer, including calling multiple times in the morning

I treat everyone with respect, that's why it irks me when I'm disrespected

and I didn't ask for the razor at the last minute, it was less than five mins into the cut

and there was no need to diss me talking bout "start behaving like a man". I said in my OP that we resolved it peacefully like men

you misjudged me dog, re-read my original post

as far as you negging me about what I said about Black businesses needing better customer service with other Black people, that's facts.

I've seen a million times with my own eyes Black workers treating white customers with far more respect. Are you Black American, have you never seen this ???

I've worked in retail half my life and I treated everyone regardless of race with respect, so again you misjudged me

I still support the idea of Black businesses, just treat me with the same respect I show the employees at the Black business, this is not rocket science

Oh and I negged you back for dissing me when I'm one of the most positive posters on TheColi
Like Lil B says I'm "based"

How often you switching barbers?

not often, I had a real cool barber years back who cut me perfectly but he went to jail, and whenever I go to that barbershop I ask if he's coming back, but they won't tell me which I perfectly understand. He was real cool too, loved his job and even used to get hype using the razor on my beard

but ever since he got locked up I been periodically tried different barbershops, they just don't cut as good as him.

But I don't switch barbers a lot at all

why do you ask breh ?

My barber prior to the pandemic and shaving myself bald was my family. Even though we are family, I always paid him like I would anyone else. We got to a point though he wasn’t honoring my appointments, so we lightweight got into. Basically on some regardless we are fam, I pay you like a business so respect my time like any other customer. Didn’t mess with him for some time and took a funeral for us to patch it up. Thankfully cause the dude I went to in the mean time was doing a terrible job lol.
